BLT Lounge

Only DVC members staying at BLT and their guests may use the lounge per the latest newsletter so staying at BCV does not grant you access.

From what I was told by someone who was there last week they are asking to see your DVC card so renting points does not get you access. You must be the actual member

I knew you had to be staying at BLT, but thanks for clearing up the renting/DVC member thing :thumbsup2

I can totally understand limiting it. I think it's nice to have somewhere special, you can still see the fireworks from CG so it's not a totally exclusive viewing point.

Well the California Grill is also exclusive because they only let those having dinner there watch Wishes from their lounge.

As an owner of blt I think only allowing members up their is the way I think it should work. I am not sure but are all the rooms open for use at blt.

I am a DVC owner and I would very much like to utilize the lounge. In fact, I am planning on a reservation there next year (either cash or points).

I think that if you are a DVC member or if you have paid to stay at that resort, you should have access.

From what I read, the Disney Vacation Club does not own the Top of the World Lounge. It is owned by The Disney Company. It is administered by DVC but not owned by them.

If the latter is true, then don't be surprised if DVC access to this lounge goes the way of the Members' Attic at BWV that never opened for DVC members. :(

Does anyone know the capacity of the TOW Lounge? It will likely not be large enough to accommodate even all DVC members staying on points at BLT who want to be there during Wishes.

I do not own DVC but I have no problem with a DVC member's only club. Sounds cool. Two syllables.:lmao:

I think that the lounge should be made into
a concierge lounge and if you have an magic kingdom view
booked then you get concierge service with that. The viewing area should
still be available for other blt guests

only reason I'm thinking this is because everyone I know who has beensays the lounge is always emtpy and rather then loose it all together they could do something to justify the crazy point price of those view rooms.

Just my opinion though

My husband and I were there last weekend. They have loosened the rules a little.

If you are staying in the tower, and are a DVC member, you can come up, regardless of money or points.

You can also bring friends. We brought up a good friend and had a lovely evening.

We spent several hours up there and spoke at length to the manager. He said they had been surprised by the lack of attendance. I told him it was obvious the rules were too stringent. That is when he told us about the nicer rules. : )

It is beautiful up there!

We love Hallowishes!

Thanks for your update! Maybe it's the price of the drinks rather than the "rules" keeping the attendance down. ;) How are the prices?

We arrive at BLT in October. DVC Member and staying on points.
Looking forward to being at TOW. I am also interested in knowing the
offerings and the prices. Any TIW discount or CM discount ?

:cool1:

seems silly to call it a 'members' lounge if they grant access to non-members over actual members

The prices were "Disney" like and it is just for members. You can bring up a guest though.

They do accept the Tables in Wonderland card which we used.

Thanks, especially for the info re: Tables in Wonderland discount. :thumbsup2

I'm a little bummed because I was under the impression that it was members only, but that you didn't have to be staying at BLT. I was looking forward to checking it out next month but we usually stay at OKW so I'm wondering if we'll be out of luck. we didn't necessarily want to go for Wishes, just to check the views and the lounge out.
