BLT - Going, Going, Gone

I know wdrl posted a note the other day about sales for BLT going at a fast clip, and that another declaration (final?) had been made a week or two ago.

Just wanted to let people know that my guide just emailed that said DVC is now officially in the final phase of sales for BLT.

Looks like wdrl's prediction of selling out by the fall of this year should hold up.

im still debating on whether or not to buy a few more points there. it is soooo convenient and the lounge/viewing area up top is just the best. i guess if i cant make my decision soon, ill have to break out the magic 8-ball!

Well definitely don't do it for the Top of the World Lounge. It's almost assuredly not going to last long in it's present form after close out. Hopefully us DVC'ers will at least be able to visit it after they no longer need it as a sales incentive.

There's always going to be the resale market.

Also, the lounge/viewing area is something that isn't part of DVC. It's a perk that could be taken away at any time. Many have guessed that it will go away once BLT sells out. The viewing area is a prime candidate for Disney to make far more money for private parties.

We went in Sept and stayed at BLT, it was our add on this year! We loved the lounge well worth it!!!!

I bought a small BLT contract last year and we had our first stay there this past December. We just loved it. If I were to add on, it would be there. I'm thinking of selling off a couple of small AKV contracts and replacing them with BLTs.

What do you think they'll develop next?

We own 160pts at BLT, and we would love to add on. However, by the time we can afford that, they will likely be sold out. I am not interested in Aulani, and while I like SSR, I don't see us staying in the treehouses, and don't really have a need for the 11 month home reort booking advantage. We will be staying at AKL this June for the first time, but I am not sure if we will like it enough to want to own there. What cool new place are they going to have that will make me want to buy more points?
