Hi there,
Anybody knows for sure about the "holding fee" the resort charges for grocery delivery? And how much?
I ordered from garden grocer and wasn't sure whether to put the delivery time right before check in time or after we come back from dinner. If the resort charges extra holding fee, I might just do after dinner.

Thanks!

I have never been assessed a few for groceries by the resort.

What's a holding fee?

I thought I read somewhere that if you have the resort hold your groceries (water case, etc.) that we will be charged a fee?
Was I mistaken? I hope I am... but for some reason I remembered reading something like that?

Or was it only for shipped product?

The is a processing fee for shipped items at BLT, BWV, and BCV. Currently there is not a fee to store items with Bell Services.

Right - the basic idea is that if it comes in through the front door (bell services), there's no fee. If it comes in the back door (shipping & receiving), there's a fee.

That makes a lot of sense! Thanks so much for the explanation :thumbsup2

Remember, though, that it is still appropriate to tip bell services for the storage/delivery of your groceries.

How much do you tip when you collect your items? $1 per bag (like with luggage) or $5 on up depending on the amount of groceries delivered.

Also, do you know what the charge is for items shipped? I was going to ship a box from home but hadn't heard about the holding fee.

Thanks!

We believe that a TIP should be earned and not expected. If a any service person does the minimum, they get a minimum tip. If they truly go out of their way, they get more.

We vacation at Disney so often that some Bell Services people at Disney know us by name and put on the show because they know that a nice tip will be rewarded.

$5 to $10 depending on the amount of groceries, the distance from the lobby and the show. :goodvibes

It really isn't a holding fee, more of a receiving fee. The resorts with associated convention centers have contracted out the shipping/receiving of packages for guests. This is similar to most convention centers natonwide. A receiving fee of $5 to $10 per package seems to be the norm.

You'll also need to claim your packages during normal business hours.

Thanks! I guess I didn't consider the fact that the BCV is a convention property (since we are staying on points). I deal with shipping boxes to convention hotels all the time so the fee isn't unknown to me. But since we didn't get charged at OKW I didn't know if it was a new charge. I'll have to call and find out exactly what their hours are since we arrive late on Saturday and not being able to get the stuff till Monday just wouldn't make sense.
