BLT & DVC in the Contemporary

I've been off the boards for a little more than a week - so forgive me in advance if this has been asked and answered 150 times! We just got back from a non-DVC trip to Disney. We were driving to the Contemporary for dinner at The Wave and noticed people in rooms at the BLT. A waiter from California Grill stopped us as we were walking in and asked if we were staying in BLT. When we told him we weren't, but hoped to some day soon he asked if we knew why people were there - he didn't think it was opening for a few more weeks. As we went on in the Contemporary, we noticed signs for DVC Invited Guests. I believe it was Wednesday night, July 1st. Anyway, there was apparently a DVC event in the Contemporary and we noticed Weds. & Thurs. nights that rooms at the BLT were occupied. Just curious what I missed!

Before a resort opens, they frequently do "test runs" with cast members using the rooms. They did it in April with AKV Kidani.

The are doing sales tours and presentations prior to the opening.

I will say late one evening we were on the boat over to WL and there were plenty of lights on around 11:30 or so. I believe the rooms were actually occupied, not just being shown as a sales presentation. I figured it was cast members or DVC sales personnel in the rooms.
