BLT developer points restrictions/cancellation

I know where the points can be used but my question is what other restrictions are in place? They expire in early October (the 3rd, I think) but how does cancelling a ressie work? If I book for early July and then have to cancel what happens to my points?

Let's say it is outside of 30 days before my trip, will the points just stay DP points that still need to be used by 10-3-09?

What about within 30 days of my trip?

Best advice is to check your contract

IIRC, when we had dev pts you could cancel outside 30 days no problem; inside 30 days and you lose the points (no holding acct, just lose them). That could have changed, so that's why I say best thing is to check your paperwork.

I actually don't have any paperwork yet, as I am buying this December. I was just planning ahead.

This is what our contract says as well.

No problems, I just cancelled a booking for Dec with developer points and made another booking for March all on the same phone call. Just cancel before the 30 day mark.
