I have a reservation for BLT this October for just a couple of nights in a one bedroom Bayview- Is it worth the points to go on the waiting list for MK view?

Really, up to you. For me, it would not be but there are others who feel that staying at BLT without an MK view makes no sense.

I bought at BLT for the ability to walk to/from the MK so the view from our room is not that important. Matter of fact, my DH will enjoy the LV much better.

Good luck!

I think it really depends on how you vacation.

The MK view may only be special once it's dark out. During the day, I'm not thrilled about seeing a parking lot. Then again, you get to watch the monorail during the day. At night, that's when the MK view will be a premium. (Fireworks and seeing the park lit up).

Lake view seems like it will be incredible in the morning and afternoon. It may also be great at night.

We're hoping to try both in December. We have a Lake view for 4 nights and are WL for 3 more nights in a MK view. In the future, I suspect we will stay lake view or standard view, unless we bring friends who haven't tried MK view.

We are staying in a 2 BR Lakeview in January.Since Wishes was only a Friday night event last year in January we did want to use the points to stay on the MK side. Hopefully we will have access to the lounge to see the fireworks but at this time who knows. I honestly think it will be great to have my morning coffee looking out over the lake without all the hustle and bustle of people trying to get to the MK.

In some LV rooms you may be able to see the fireworks from Epcot. Granted it will be off in 2-3 miles in the distance, but still a bonus.

Also, some LV rooms will likely be able to see the Electric Water Pageant.

I've decided no, not for our January stay. We got LV, had been on a waitlist for either LV or standard. We're thrilled with getting BLT for the marathon weekend. After seeing the videos of the "DVC BLT tour" I took a hard look at the points it would take for MK view, but I'm not willing to do it. I was surprised and pleased when the video of the LV GV showed that you could see the Epcot ball in the distance. That would be a plus for me!

PS. Just have to say that after we own some BLT points, they will most likely be used for a MK view, the same way our AKV points are mostly used for a savannah view. We save points sometimes at AKV, especially on weekends, but for the most part, we think AKV is about the animal viewing right from your villa.

One other thing to keep in mind, there has been talk that the outer crescent rooms are slightly bigger.

For me, Lake View is the sweet spot. The points for MK view are completely out of hand.

I'd be interested also in knowing which rooms will have the best MK view. Is there a layout of the room numbers and their location available yet?

We are taking MIL and FIL for a birthday celebration for one night in October. I originally booked a BLV as that was all that was available. I waitlisted for the MKV and was happily surprised when it came through a few days later! FIL will be celebrating his 85th and I think will really enjoy the MKV. If it was just me and hubby, I would rather be there in person.

Next year we plan on a WDW stay attatched to a 3 day cruise. It will be our first stay at BLT and I will "splurge" for the MK view, but probably wouldn't in the future. It may be an occassional thing for our family.

Just a question....
are the "standard" view rooms same side as the MK view rooms but just lower level ?

We "splurged" for a MK view for our first stay too. I find it amusing that when we stayed at Yacht Club, Water view was the premium view and at BLT it's almost thought of as second class rooms.

We are booked for 2 nights next month in a water view room. At first I was disappointed that the MK view was not available, but after I thought about it, I actually began to much prefer the lake view. We will be at an ADR location on our first night there and at the MK on the second night, so it would not matter much to us anyway. And we always tried to book a lake view when we stayed at the CR garden wing in the past....it was terrific! :goodvibes So I feel pretty good about our choice and saving some points to boot. Maybe we will try a MK view at some other time.
