How hard will it be to land a one-bedroom lake view for a week the last week in March?

I was able to book a 1-br lake view for President's week at 7 months so I think you will be okay if you call right on the date you can book.

Be sure and call right at 9:00 because if you have to go on the waitlist you will be right at the top of the list.

I was able to secure a 1-bedroom for the first week of F&W festival at 7 months out. I did call at 9am the first day of the 7 month window to secure the reservation. Good luck!

Agree. We have been able to get a 2BR Lake view twice now at 7 months. Once for November and once for Presidents' Day weekend. All of the Magic Kingdom view rooms were gone.

With the latest Declaration for BLT, more villas have been released to the DVC making it easier to book a room at 7 months because the points for these new units have not yet been sold.

Here's the information from wdrl's post on the What's in a BLT thread, http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37277171&postcount=186

Although 86.67% of BLT has been declared, only 59.52% of BLT's estimated 5,733,530 points have been sold, based on deeds recorded with the Orange County Comptroller through June 30, 2010.

BLT continues to sell points at a steady rate, so the above percentages won't last. The more BLT owners, and when they book at the 11 month mark, the lower the number of villas that will be available at 7 months.

Enjoy it while you can. But I'd second melk's recommendation to book on the exact day of the 7 month mark to be safe. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure BLT lake view will always be fairly easy to book at 7 months. If I'm not mistaken, it's one of the larger room inventory categories (#units) in the DVC system. Similarly, AKV savanna view will always be fairly easy to book at 7 months.

Frankly most of DVC is fairly easy to book at 7 months, aside from the very most high-demand times of year, with the exceptions of room types with comparatively small inventories.

now if you wanted standard view - then maybe - but lake view you can probably get it.

MK - so far the demand is still quite large - despite the reviews of several members who got 1 or 2nd floor views.

Now Dec is a completely different case - Dec is probably the hardest of all the months to get - too many DVCers want to be at WDW in Dec. One of the reason is the decorations, MVMCP (MK) and CLP (Epcot)

I will. And the good news is if I am able to enjoy it, some other lucky DVC owner will be able to enjoy my Boardwalk or Standard view villa when I release it at 7 months. Those will always be harder to get than a BLT Lake View Room in my humble opinion.

Isn't the breakdown of rooms at BLT approximately...70% LV, 20% MK view, and 10% SV?

MK views (at present anyway) are only in the front of the building. There are no rooms in the front of the building on the first floor. The few rooms on the 2nd floor in the front of the building are Standard View according to work2play's thread...

IIRC, the dividing line between MK and standard views is the between the third and fourth floor. So two units, one on top of the other with essentially the same view, could have a dramatic point cost difference. Quite the topic of discussion last year! But really it's no different from an AKV value room, where some guests have savanna views and some have park parking lot views for the same #points. Luck of the draw.

Lake view is def. the sweet spot IMO.

I own at BLT and have not had trouble getting resies yet. Unfortunately, I may not be able to use my November 2 BR reservation. Kids activity obligations are killing me!
