BLT and ToTW Lounge question...

I never thought about TOTWL before reading this thread. We are staying OOP instead of on our points in August. To be honest, the AP discounted price for the rooms was less than $10 ppt so we saved them for next year.

Anyway, if you are staying on cash, can you go up to the lounge? I'm thinking not. I've already counted on paying for internet for a couple of days just to check emails. The lounge would be nice, but it's not essential. I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask. We might even consider buying into BLT if we like it enough. I feel a case of addonitis coming on!

If you made your cash reservation through MS, you should be able to. But if you made it through Dis Res Ctr, no, you cannot go up.

We didn't make it through MS. But from what I've read on other threads, I could arrange a tour and at least see the lounge. I can't see us spending much time up there other than to view the fireworks one time. But we may just head over to the contemporary to view if it's a problem.

If you are a member, you can do the 1:00PM sales presentation, but you have to book it a few days before.

also I read someone's TR about a few nights they stayed at BLT...now maybe this was lost in the translation of writing or I didn't catch this part...

but sounded like they had family bunk w/ them in their room one night (local visiting) and went up to the lounge together or the "guests" by themselves...

like I said not sure...

but the trend here seems to be depending on time, day, season and CM working the desk...those staying on points-DVC members and anyone staying in their room can go up together...

people not staying in BLT but going up w/ BLT resort guests can try but no guarentee

"Due to anticipated high demand for this location, access is available only to Disney Vacation Club Members who are staying at Bay Lake Tower using their Membership (Vacation Points or cash), guests staying in the room with that Member, and guests who are staying in a room reserved by a DVC Member with Vacation Points. Access is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis."

Based on that I would say that day guests would have to be added to your reservation to ensure access to the lounge. This would only be an issue if you have the max number of occupants in your room already or if you were using the Dining Plan.

I'll still ask if they can come up to the TOWL with us, all they can say is no.... If they do we'll hop on the monorail and watch the fireworks from the Poly beach.

We were there from 12/30-1/04 & we spent quite a few nights up there & not once were we asked for anything but 1 room key. Even when they showed Fantasy in the Sky fireworks on the 30th at midnight, we were only asked for 1 key. There was never more than a handful of people up there, except for the 30th when there were quite a few tables taken, but it still wasn't packed. Not saying they don't ask for keys from everyone, but it never happened to us.

Why not watch the fireworks from the Contemporary 4th floor viewing area. The view is almost as good as BLT and it's open to everyone.

I'm sorry if you are upset about my post, I didn't mean to offend you. I don't consider the popcorn smiley "snarky".

I use him as a marker for posts that I want to watch, like watching a movie eating popcorn.

Glad to hear that!! My husband just asked me that question earlier today! We'll b staying at the BLT next May and our friends will be staying at the Beach Club...he asked if they'd be able to come up with us...I said "I think it depends on who's working the desk that evening". I'm glad you were able to bring your friends!! Makes me hopeful!!! Thanks for the update!!
