BLT and MF's

BWV & BCV have to pay a portion of the boat operation costs, so I would think BLT would have to kick in a charge for the monorail. Since it's not a large part of the total usage, I can't imagine it would be alot.

Maintenance fees at all onsite DVC resorts include costs for "Transportation". For all DVC resorts that includes buses, but may include boats and monorail for those served by those forms of Disney transport. BLT will be served by bus, boat and monorail and those expenses are included in the annual fees.

Doc, would you anticipate MF's to rise dramatically more than others once Disney stops subsidizing the MF's?

No, since BLT has higher point costs for stays there, there is a higher maintenance income just from basic ownership at the resort. While there would seem to be other economies associated with maintaining the small footprint for the resort (lower landscaping costs, less exterior maintenance for a single building), IMO the greatest factor in keeping annual fees lower is the greater number of points needed for stays on a per unit basis.

In fact, in terms of annual costs, it will be less expensive for BLT owners to stay at their resort (or any other DVC resort) than for owners at other DVC resorts due to the difference in maintenance fees.

In terms just of maintenance fees for 2009, it will cost AKV owners $37.76 more per night for a stay in a 1BR weeknights in early December and a whopping $87.68 more for VB owners versus the cost for BLT owners. Talk about a Home Resort advantage! :)
