Blt and ak

Hi. I am a new member and I think we are going to spend our first visit at BLT for 3 week nights and then move to AK for 2 week nights and 2 weekend nights since it is a little cheaper to do it this way. We will book MK and SV. Is there any views or rooms or floors that are better than others? What about this Concierge level for xtra points? What is that and what do I get xtra. Is it worth the xtra points? In the points book AK is the only that I see that offers it.

AKV is the only DVC that offers concierge level. There are 5 2-bedroom lockoffs. You have the food they offer in the lounge. They will book dinning reservations for you. You get turn down service and daily housekeeping and are able to book the sunrise safari. 3 of the rooms have a savanna view and two have a pool view. The savanna views are not very good.

Concierge level at AKV is very limited. There are only 5 two bedroom lock-off units available, and most book up very early. Unless you have the 11 month booking window there, it might be impossible to get.

There are pros AND cons to concierge level. The pros are the ability to book the special tours that are only available to concierge guests, and also the special food offerings, turn down service, daily cleaning, and access to concierge booking. The cons are that the CL rooms at AKV are not the best views, and surround the lobby, so they can be a little noisy sometimes. We have stayed concierge level several times, and while we like it for a few nights here and there, it isn't our MUST have stay so much anymore. We prefer to have a guaranteed savanna view instead.

I would ask for a high floor for your MK view at BLT. Check out this thread by work2play and see if anyone else has recommended room requests. It's a great thread, where people have reported their room views and even posted photos of their views. Work2play will also give you advice if you post your question on her thread.

akv is two building Kidani standard view is generally the parkng lot.

while the one at Jambo House is the pool.

so if you want standard view at AKV - would recommend Jambo house

now if you are saying savannah view not standard view and have a 1-bedroom or bigger than would go with Kidani. It is just bigger (the villa)

studios are much the same - so would go with Jambo House - just because it is part of the hotel and has more restuarants and other things to do

Welcome to the Disboards - you'll learn a lot here. I would definitely request a high floor for the MK view at BLT to be as far from the distraction of the parking lot as possible. I have yet to stay at AKV yet but I would give up concierge level to have a better savannah view as it sounds like concierge rooms don't have much of a savanna view. I also wouldn't stay in concierge for a view of the pool over a savannah view, afterall what are you going the AKV for if not to see giraffes and zebras up close an personal.
