BLT - access to TOTWL?

When BLT first opened, there was a lot of discussion about who gets access to TOTWL. We are going to be there in Feb on points we are renting from a DVC member. Will we be able to get access to TOTWL or is that a privilege reserved for actual DVC owners? I thought that at one point I recall that some renters reported getting access to TOTWL but I don't know if that was just a lucky break or actual policy.

When we stayed there this past November you were required to show your room key and then you were allowed access to the lounge.

If you room keys have 'DVC MEMBER' on them you will be allowed up to the TOTWL.

It depends on how the reservation is coded by MS. If the member that rented out the points received compensation for them, MS is supposed to code the reservation as a non-member. In that case, the room keys would not say 'DVC MEMBER' on them.

I think is most cases, the reservation is coded as if a member is staying in the room and the room keys will say 'DVC MEMBER'.

When we rented from my brother last January, our keys did say "DVC Member".

Yeah, just make sure it says DVC Member on the card. We were just there last week and it said it was reserved for DVC Members and their guests staying on their points at the Bay Lake Tower. It's a pretty cool place!

As of right now, no, you can not. It is only for those that are staying at BLT on a DVC membership.

My husband and our 2 kids had a studio booked at BLT for 5 nights in May. We decided in invite my parents along so we booked another BLT studio using the AP discount. As my parents dont have APs but we do, we put the cash AP discount room in our names and transferred the DVC booking to their names. We are DVC members but my parents are not.

Now I am worried that none of us will be able to use the TOTWL! The DVC members are staying on cash and the non members are staying on points! Eeek!

Do you think i could add our names to the DVC booking so we can go in, or will the system recognise that i have also booked an AP room for cash? Do I actually have to stay in the AP room to get the discount or can I give that room to my parents?

So confused................

Just put one room in your name and one in your husband's name. You are not going to have a problem. As long as one card says "member" you can get 6 up without a problem.

We tried TOWL in December and loved it. But for some reason the night we went the music for Wishes was not playing on the viewing deck. It was just general music. We could hear the music from the walkway a little bit but I was disappointed. Hopefully it was just a fluke the night we went.
