BLT 2bdrm D Oct?

So through another thread I found the room that I want at the BLT butI am worried that I will lucky to get a 2 bedroom Dedicated Standard View at 7 months out....trip planned for 10 days Oct 1st - 10th...anythoughts?

Also has any one requested a room and gotten it, we have requested 6th floor or higher but never a specific room (if available)

Do you really think that a specific room will just happen to be vacant during the exact dates that you want it? I suppose that it could happen, but you could also win the lotto.

I would give the room assigners a little more to work with like upper floor, even number room, close to elevators, etc.

I think you're right about needing luck. We booked a 1 BR standard at 11 months and a few days later thought we might prefer a 2 BR. I called back at 10 months and 26 days and no dedicated rooms were left, although there were 2 lockoffs.

This was for a late July arrival. October may be easier, but you've got all the F & W people looking to take the monorail back from Epcot to contend with.

But you never know. It doesn't cost you anything to call at 7 months... yet...

If you don't already have the standard view BLT reservation, chances are very slim that you will be able to get it at the 7 month mark. Standard view villas at BLT tend to book up before the 7th month window even opens. There aren't very many of them.

I doubt October will easier. Especially with Mickey's No So Scary Halloween Party going on at the MK.

Not a 2 bedroom, but I could not get a SV studio for Oct at 8 months out. Had to go with LV and am wait listed for SV.

For a STANDARD View, I think the odds are extremely slim. You could probably get a Lake View. Bsed on the maps I've seen, there are only 10 2BR units per floor. Limit that to the first 3 or 4 floors for standard view & you only have a pool of 30-40 units to draw from. FWIW, there are no standards on the 6th floor. All standards are on the first few floors.

Yo also have to remember MNSSHP will be going on & will make BLT an even more desirable location during that time (just like BCV?BWV are during F&W).

Personally I think you have a little better odds getting a 2 bedroom with a standard view room than a 1 bedroom or studio. I have a reservation for 8 days in June for a 2 bedroom at the BLT. I made the reservation at exactly 7 months out and at exactly 9:00 am Eastern Time. When I made the reservation a standard view room was available but I chose the Bay lake view room.

The last time we visited I requested a room close to the south tower elevator and high up in the tower and our room was right next to the elevator 1 floor above the sky bridge. It was perfect. This was the only time I ever received a room request out of four visits. I have also learned that it really doesn't matter where our room is located, it’s going to be nice and we will enjoy it immensely.

Also you will know at the time of booking if a 2 bedroom dedicated or lock-off is available.

FWIW I called at 11 months exactly (but 11:30 AM instead of 9:00AM) to get a 2BR Ded. SV at BLT for October 8th through12th. I was unable to get a dedicated unit, but did get a L/O.

Since then, our plans changed and we our now going over New Years. When I called for this new reservation (at exactly 11months at exactly 9AM), the 2BR SV Ded unit was available ... but in the 2 min. it took the CM to cancel my October reservation to free up my points, the dedicated unit snapped up. I did get another L/O and am WLed for the Ded.

I would say your chances of a DEDICATED 2BR at 7 months in October are very slim, but it can't hurt to try.
