Blowing out 22 candles in Disney World! NEW 8.24 page 25

Mittenwald was my favorite town that we stayed in! I recognized one of the paintings on one fo the houses. :)

Sorry I missed this post before

Mittenwald was such a cute town. We didn't stay there but ended up driving through a couple times. The paintings on the buildings are so amazing! Just beautiful!

Great update! You sure are brave to take pictures on EE, I'd be afraid I'd drop my camera! Oh, and you are not the only one who screams on that ride. ;)

We went to TL once years ago and I remember the wave pool being pretty fun.

Thanks Sarah! I had my camera strap wrapped around my wrist and thumb just hoping it wouldn't go flying off.

Glad you are with me in the 'I scream on EE club' :rolleyes1

Great update! I've never been through the main EE queue - always the single rider line which, let's face it, is nothing to write home about! I've also never seen (or was completely oblivious to) Devine. My To-Do list keeps getting longer and longer. :faint:

Can't wait for the next installment!

Sounds you had great timing missing that storm! :thumbsup2

I scream on every roller coaster. Its crazy. Even Space Mountain! I can't help it, its just so much fun!

I dropped some stuff off in my room and made my way back to the busses. I didn't wait long before the bus to the MK came. I wanted to make it in time for the Move it, Shake it, celebrate it street parade. I made it to the MK with time to spare so I made it down Main St to the hub to grab a spot for the show.
ry%3D400

The parade makes it's way down Main St then stops all around the hub for a 15-20 minute show. The weather was perfect and slowly people started to gather around the hub. A few miutes later the music started and we could see the show coming around.

The floats go all around the hub once so you can see them all. Then they go back around to stop at their respective spots.

Once the floats come to a stop the characters come off and start dancing with the other CM's.

Then everyone is invited to join the characters and CM's! It was so fun to see the kids AND adults getting in and having fun.

After everyone is directed back to the curb and the Cm's do one more number before the floats start off in motion again back down main st.

I know a lot of people don't like the street party at DHS but this one is not to be missed!!! The music is great and it's just a blast! I really couldn't get enough of this! Be sure to check it out!

After the street party I was getting ready to head over to tomorrowland when I got a text from my friend Lindsey (a fellow diser) asking if I still wanted to meet up later in the night. We had talked about it before I left but we kind of left it up in the air depending on her work schedule. I told her of course (specially since it's been a while since we met up). We decided to meet by the balloon at DTD at 7:30. So looking at my watch and knowing Disney transportation can take a while I needed to head over now.

I left the MK and took the monorail over to the GF. I know I could of gotten off at the CR but I had to head over to my fave resort!

I know I've said this a million times here but I just LOVE this resort! When I walked into the lobby the band was playing on the balcony.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I couldn't stay to listen to them I had to get down stairs and get on the DTD bus. There must of been 3 DHS busses that came but none for DTD. Before I knew it 30 minutes had gone by and still no bus! Finally one did come about 5 minutes later. I was finally on my way to DTD. I got off at the west side stop and made my way over to the Characters in flight balloon. Lindsey was already waiting for me! We were hoping to check out the balloon but of course it wasn't operating...too windy. We walked down to the end of the market place just catching up and figuring out what we wanted to do. We decided to head over to T-Rex and see how long the wait was. It ended up not being bad only 20 minutes. We saw that the bar had a few open seats and asked if we could sit there. We were told we could and were seated there with no wait.
ry%3D400

Octopus legs above the bar...
ry%3D400

Since we were celebrating our b-days (mine the day before and her's 3 days later) we decided to treat ourselves to drinks. She got a cotton-tini and I got this.
ry%3D400

I can't remember what it was called but it was really good.

ry%3D400

The food was good. I would say better than Rainforest Cafe and the atmosphere was really cool too! I would definatly go back on my next trip.
ry%3D400

After dinner we walked around a bit then headed off to our seperate ways since the next day she was starting her birthday vacation. It was so great to see Lindsey again and I'm glad we got to meet up!

I headed off down to the market place to check out the art store again. I ended up getting a nice poster of the castle with Tink. You can see the GF and monorail in the background. I just love it! After that I decided to head back to Pop for the night to get some rest.

Haha I don't even think the single rider line is 10ft long. It is just so boring to look at but hey you never wait very long.

Devine is cool to see but shes not something I would wait and plan my schedule around. I just happen to always catch her when shes out.

Sounds you had great timing missing that storm! :thumbsup2

I scream on every roller coaster. Its crazy. Even Space Mountain! I can't help it, its just so much fun!

Haha I scream on Space Mt too! Which by the way I can't wait to see what they have done with it!

The Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade looks adorable! I love how you can interact and dance right along with the performers! :)

So cool that you were able to meet up and have a birthday drink with Lindsey! T-Rex definitely has a neat atmosphere!

Ooh, great update! The parade looks like a blast! We'll definitely have to check that out.

The T-Rex Cafe looks great too. Another thing to add to our list!

I think when you guys go Jake will really enjoy it! Tons of bright colors, characters and music. Make sure you check it out!

Me too!

I can't wait to see that parade in September. I've heard nothing but good things about it :goodvibes

I haven't seen Lindsey on the DIS much anymore. I used to read her TRs all the time. :confused3

Hey Cheryl! Sorry I have been MIA for so long! I'm glad your trip to Germany was good! That cake from your parents looks way cute! I can't wait to read more about your trip!

May 14

So this morning I woke up and decided to head over to MGM (it will always be MGM to me). Anyway I will admit this is my least favorite park and I didn't spend too much time there. I made it to the park and my 2 main goals were to see the HSM3 pep rally and check out the new AI attraction. I'm a BIG AI junkie.

I made it to the park a little later than I usually do so I didn't have to wait long for the first HSM party.
ry%3D400

The float makes it down the street towards Mickey's hat then they stop infront and thats where the show takes place. It was quite hot that morning and the CM's did a great job. The music is fun and the kids and some adults really get into it.

The show was fun and a must see for HSM lovers. I will say though after seeing all 3 I think my favorite pep rally would have to be the first one.

After the HSM show I headed over to the new AI attraction. It was a little early for the show (about 30 minutes) but I wanted to make sure I got in.

Outside of the building there is a huge screen and it plays clips of Ryan Seacrest and some AI alumni asking if "you have what it takes".
There is also a CM outside directing you into the buiding's waiting area.
Everyone hangs around while there is a movie with Justin Guarini (season 1 second place) has a mini idol show.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Once it got close to showtime an AI worker came out and got the crowd pumped for the show. When everyone was ready the AI music started (the theme song) and we were let into the theater. Now let me say they did a great job! It looks so much like the AI stage.

ry%3D400

I found a seat right up front and when everyone was seated the same guy who pumped up the crowd outside came out again. He explained how everything worked like the 'golden ticket' and how you vote.

Next we were introduced to the host and the judges. I will just say the judges were wayyyy over the top specificly the one who played the "Randy character".

ry%3D400

Next we were introduced to the singers...
ry%3D400

They all sang one song then we were able to vote for our favorite who would go on to the Finale show at the end of the day.

ry%3D400

The show was fun and lasted about 30 minutes. I was glad I checked it out and would definatly do it again.

After leaving the AI theater I headed over to 'One Man's Dream' (OMD).
ry%3D400

I love this picture of Walt he looks so happy and excited talking about the land in FL. I just wish he could of seen his idea of Walt Disney World in it's glory.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

This time around there seemed to be quite a few people checking out OMD. I was glad to see this, since I've seen so many people walk in and realize it's not a ride then walk out. :(

After OMD I headed over to Toy Story Mania and the line was so long. I decided not to ride and just walk around then head out for a bit.

Up next Epcot.

Love the new update! Your TR is getting me so excited for my trip...

Tina sorry I didn't get to talk to you before you left. But I hope you are having a FABULOUS time!!!!

Me too!

I can't wait to see that parade in September. I've heard nothing but good things about it :goodvibes

I haven't seen Lindsey on the DIS much anymore. I used to read her TRs all the time. :confused3

It's so much fun! I was actually talking to a photopass photographer before the street party and he said they are actually reworking the 3pm parade because so many people disliked it but love the street party.

Sadly Lindsey isn't on the Dis much anymore. She has so much going on. I loved all her TR's too hopefully she will get back on the dis. :)

Hey Cheryl! Sorry I have been MIA for so long! I'm glad your trip to Germany was good! That cake from your parents looks way cute! I can't wait to read more about your trip!

Hey girl!!! I was actually thinking of you the other day. I need to check out your TR you must be heading off to Europe soon. :goodvibes

Great update! Glad you liked HSM. I agree, some of the people get REALLY into it! :rotfl:

I cannot wait to try the American Idol Experience. It looks great!

Great TR so far, looks like tons of fun! I was wondering what area of New Hampshire you are from? I recently visited the Lake Winnepesaukee area and the North Conway area also. (I've got all the touristy areas covered :rotfl:) I love New Hampshire, i hope to move there someday!

I have to say I've never been to OMD! :confused3 I'll definitely check it out in August now that I understand what it actually is! Great pictures :thumbsup2 of the pep rally.

The trip was great, it was tough sometimes because my sister gets motion sickness on any type of vehicle, and is nervous in most of them on top of that! :rotfl: But she made it, and we spent a TON of money. Much more than I had planned. I bought all kinds of Disney kitchen items, like silverware and cooking utensils. We made it to Prime Outlets too and I spent a bunch at the Disney Character Warehouse too. Great prices on Halloween and Christmas items, and anything that had 2008 on it was 1/2 price. It was nice. I bought a Christmas throw for $17.99!!! :scared1:

It was really hard on our 2nd full day/last full day (yes, very short!) when we pulled up at MK to take the monorail to the hotels. I wanted to go to MK. I was ready to pay my sister's ticket too! We didn't though, we stuck with the plan and we toured some hotels and the Boardwalk and then went back to DTD. I just kept telling myself that I'd be back in just over 3 weeks!

Hey everyone!!! Sorry I've been so MIA lately I needed sometime away from the Dis. 2 of my family members have been really sick. My 92 year old grandpa needed emergency surgery a couple weeks ago and it was such a big risk because of his age. Usually at that age you don't want to put anyone under because their heart may just stop. But I'm happy to report he came out of it and is doing ok now. My other family member on the other hand isn't fairing too well. My aunt has had a lot of issues over the past year and has been in the hospital for the last month. She had two ulsers in her stomach the size of grapefruits and one ended up bursting causing internal bleeding which the dr's couldnt control for a while. She is in so much pain and they finally just moved her out of ICU on Friday. The dr's are waiting till some of the swelling in the other ulser to subside so they can operate. Till then she continues to be in a lot of pain. Hopefully you guys can send some positive thoughts her way!

But I didn't abandon you guys and I'm determined to get this TR done. I hope you all have had a good summer (can you believe it's almost over?). Hope you will continue to join me in this report. Look for the next update tonight or tomorrow!

Sending some positive thoughts and some pixiedust: and sending you some :hug: . Must have been a tough month for you and your family. I hope everything turns out okay and everyone gets healthy and happy again quickly!

Prayers and Pixie Dust for you and your family members Cheryl! :wizard:
