It certainly would, but would it be legal? I thought that the contract stated that home resort members were guaranteed to have at least a one month booking window advantage over non home resort members. When you sell it, aren't you selling the contract?
Although if it is legal, and you go with a "Conspiracy theorist" point of view, maybe they want to destroy the resale market in time. They are always going to want to sell DVC for the foreseeable future, and the question I ponder is, what is after Reflections? Is there something in their sites, or is it then ROFR cheap points and resell?
I think that DVC management have shown that they are willing to push the limits of contract interruptions, ie not allowing resale owners to trade to other resorts. So who knows what they might try! Past behaviour is no guarantee of future behaviour.
I have no idea if destroying resale value would be in their best interest or not. Pros, they could buy up contract really cheap in ROFR, direct buyers would be happy as they would have an easier time booking. Cons, some people would not buy direct because they would be able to sell and recover most of their buyin costs. But then lots of people buy timeshares direct that are worth nothing in a short time, so who knows.
