Does anyone do blockbuster online? I thought about doing that instead of paying 55 a month for cable.. just a thought.. wondered if anyone enjoys doing this program?? thanks.

I've been with them for about 1 month and a half now. One of the guys at work had it and absolutely loves it. He gets free coupons in his email every month for free rentals and free previously viewed DVD's at any store. I thought that would be worth it alone so I signed up. The first month I got 2 free rentals in the store and 1 B1G1 previously viewed. The second month, just 2 free rentals. I'm going to wait to see what month #3 brings before I continue. Maybe they give better rewards to those that stay with it longer.

Otherwise, the service is pretty good. I signed up for my account through MyPoints on a Thursday afternoon while I was at work and was shocked to find 3 movies in my mailbox Friday. Monday I sent 2 back and today, 2 more were in the box. I don't like the Queue though- I have movies listed in order and they frequently go out of order when filling them. Not because the movie is not available, I really don't know why. I guess that is why they give you the free in store rentals!!

I guess it's worth a shot- the movies do arrive quickly.

I have been using them for over a year. I have no complaints. The day after I mail back a DVD the next one is sent out and I get it the next day. They have a very fast turn around but that may depend on how close you live to a distribution center. My son always uses the 2 free instore rentals for games so that pays for the $14.99 monthly fee.

amp078,

Those extras do not get better the longer you are with them. They are the same for everyone.

I have it and love it. I don't have cable- most of the shows I watch come on regular network TV- But I like some of the HBO shows like Six Feet Under and Curb Your Enthusiasm- we just get the DVDs from Blockbuster Online - and watch them 6 months later than everybody who has HBO. The monthly coupons are great- you get at least 2 free in-store rentals (DVD's, XBox, PS2 games...) Plus lately they have been giving extra coupons- we got one for a free pre-viewed DVD for your collection. (We got Cheaper By The Dozen)
Amp- they had the free DVD offer in Sept and Oct I think- they will probably have it again sometime- Also when they had the free dvd- you had to pick from a list of choices- they had about 20 options.

We were previously with Netflix and switched to BB online. The free rentals alone pay for the monthly fee. My kids usually use them for video game rentals and those are usually $8 at my store for one week.

I do get coupons occasionally for free previously viewed DVD's and sometimes I use them and sometimes I don't.

I do like it better.

Great- I think I will stay with them for a couple more months- not much to do in Buffalo anyway during the winter but stay in and watch DVD's!!

thanks for all the replies!!! I think I will give it a try!

Someone gave me this code for a free 30 day trial...

AMXHOLIDAY

Hope it helps others too!

Merry Christmas!

I love them. It's nice to have a movie waiting at home for you to watch instead of running to the store. Been with them for over a year. No complaints. Received a damaged DVD, emailed them and had a replacement the next day, even before I sent the damaged one back. Give em a try!

Same here. For us, the turnaround time is pretty variable. Apparently there is a system in place so when the post office scans the DVD you are sending back, BB gets notified and can send you the next DVD even before they have received the one you sent back. But this only seems to happen about half the time. So sometimes I can send a movie back and get another one in 2 or 3 days and sometimes it takes 4 or 5 days.

The only problem I have is that I'm kind of an impulse movie watcher. Some nights, I'll feel like watching a particular movie and if we don't have it, I'll go rent it in the store because I don't want to wait. So I'm not sure having BB online saves me any money. But since my son usually rents at least 2 Xbox games a month, the service is basically free anyway.

We use to be with Netflix. It seemed every movie we wanted was always a Long Wait. We would have to get very old movies to get our moneys worth cause we had to wait so long for the new releases.

Finally I got so tired of Netflix's crap and switched to Blockbuster. We haven't had any problems with them. Never have to wait to long for the new releases unlike Netflix.
