Blizzard Beach w/o a phone

You can wear the neck phone pouch on every ride at BB except summit plummet and the slide next to it. On those you can hold it in your hand with the strap wrapped around your wrist.

I always wear a rash guard, so in the wave pool, I just slip the pouch inside so it doesn't flop around in the water.

Still feel safe using it. Slashing really means someone can casually walk by and cut it open so contents will fall out, not stabbing it like that guy did.

ETA: Clarify still feel safe using it at a Disney Waterpark and the like where there are plenty of people and do stop or pass by the chair often enough to glance at the state of it. Obviously not a great solution if you are leaving it unattended for very long periods of time in a less crowded place like a more remote beach.

One of the "waterproof" cases wasn't and ruined my iPhone. I got a no name case from Amazon.

It looked the same as the cases pictured by PP

Someone could cut the strap that is wrapped around the chair or whatever and walk away with the entire bag in less than a second.

He has reviewed other bags, none provide any real protection, but the ones that have embedded steel in the strap will at least dull the thieves knife.

True--as with anything on Amazon, there is a lot of "no name" stuff that is pretty bad quality. I've also bought my kids no-brand water shoes on amazon that broke the first day they were used, but doesn't mean there aren't ones that work. I bought the "Aquapac" one and it has held up through dozens of trips--pools, water slides, snorkeling in the ocean in rough waves, you name it. I'm sure there are others that are good as well.

For anyone nervous, you can test it by putting a tissue inside, sealing it up and putting it underwater. Stretch it, move it around, leave it for a few hours, then wipe it off and open it to see if the tissue is still dry--that should tell you if it is working or not.

Mine passed the tissue test. Worked the first time I used it and ruined my phone the second time. You need to inspect and test before every use.

Yeah, my Seawag was $25, I'm not sure I could trust the ones that cost $10 for two on Amazon. The Aquapac looks nice, I like the variety of sizes.

I bought one of these several years ago to use when we were on our cruise and it's one of the best purchases I've made when it comes to traveling and going to waterparks. It's a small safe that locks to the chair and fits a decent amount of stuff. We can usually fit all 4 phones and a wallet. But someone would have to have some serious wire cutters on them to cut it off. Or they'd have to walk off with a huge chair which would be pretty noticeable. Sometimes I even lock it to two chairs if I'm able. But we just put our bag between two chairs and leave the safe in the bag and lock it to the chair and throw a towel or tshirt over the part that's locked to the chair and it's not even noticeable. We use it all the time though especially at our local pool and waterpark all summer. It really does give a piece of mind and you don't have to mess with lockers.

I don't know why the amazon link isn't loading but I attached a picture. Just look up "portable safe" and you'll see it.

We also had a phone ruined by one of the "waterproof" pouches years ago. I bought nice ones too and it passed several tests and we used it while kayaking a few times but then on a beach trip, water got in somehow and ruined one of our iphones. Which is one of the reasons that lead me to buy the portable safe!

The Lock Picking Lawyer reviewed the SAFEGO as well. It does seem to provide a great deal more security than others since the locking cord has steel embedded, but the lock was defeated using a piece of a redbull can.

These portable safes really only keep honest people away from your stuff.
