Blizzard Beach Summer Crowds

We will be doing to WDW in August 2015 and my 10 year old wanrs to go to a water park. We have decided on Blizzard Beach, but im worried about how crowded the water park will be with the August heat. Does anyone have any experience with the water parks in the summer months? Thanks!

Also, what are the wait times like? Will we be waiting an hour to ride a water slide?

How long do you plan on staying at BB?

If you get there at opening you should be able to get a lot of stuff done in the first hour or so. Also there is usually a brief afternoon thunderstorm that chases a lot of people out of the park. We did both WPs in one day and closed TL. In the last hours or so I would say CMs outnumbered the guests.

We only plan on maybe doing one day there, or less. From what im reading, if you dont get to BB at opening, you will have trouble finding a chair in the shade and waiting in lines for 45 minutes or longer. We have never been to the water parks so we are trying to figure out if this is even worth trying.

So just get there early.

Get there when it opens, ride as many slides as you can in the first few hours. When the crowds start to get heavy, do the lazy river and wave pool.
