Hi all. So 9 of us are travelling out from the UK towards the end of August, 6 adults and 3 kids for 2 weeks and staying in the Art of Animation resort.

We have a lot planned in including leaving the "Bubble" to visit Universal and other places and as a result have only 1 day for a Disney Water Park.

Which one would you recommend to visit for us all.
The kids ages are 5,9 and 11 and 38 (that would me of course)

Thanks all

We prefer Blizzard Beach. They have an awesome family raft ride, and my kids like riding up in the ski lift. We also like the wave pool better at BB, as the one at TL is a little rough. Both parks are great though, so you can't really go wrong!

You can’t go wrong with either. Like PP said, BB has a great family raft ride; however, TL opened a new family raft ride last year that looks really fun! We do enjoy the theming of TL more. Id just pick one and go. They both are great.

For 5, 9 and 11 - I give the ever-so-slight nod to BB due to the Ski Patrol Training Camp.

But really can’t go wrong with either, in my opinion.

Have fun!

I prefer TL. Crush n Gusher being a fav. And I like the theming and lay out better. Both parks have a kids area. If the wave pool is too much for them there is a pool by Crush n gusher they can swim in. And the lazy river I could spend all day in!

Thanks all for your feedback on this. I think as there are benefits at both maybe just go with the first bus that turns up :)

Speaking of water park buses... in case you don’t know this...

To get from a resort to BB, you need to take a bus to AK then transfer to a bus to BB.

To get from a resort to TL, you need to take a bus to DS then transfer to a bus to TL.

Same thing in reverse going back to your resort.

It is not the most convenient arrangement (it’s actually one of the more annoying changes Disney has implemented in recent years, in my humble opinion).

Sorry if you already know this, just making sure.

We prefer Typhoon Lagoon. We like the slides and wave pool better there. The Summit Plummit at BB was a one and done for us. It is killer on the back! Not to mention it gave me the worst wedgie EVER!

I have always been in love with Typhoon Lagoon since going years ago when I was in high school... I just absolutely love the lush, tropical landscaping in every little nook and cranny in the park. I just don't prefer the wintery snowy theme of BB.

I'd advise you to check out some videos on YouTube that give a tour around the two parks to try and get a feel for which one your group might like better. We've been planning for our trip in a couple weeks and YouTube has definitely been my best friend when it comes to figuring out if I want to do a particular thing at WDW versus another!

If we had to choose one for our family it would be Typhoon Lagoon due to the insane wave pool and we prefer the theming better. However, for kids your age I would recommend Blizzard Beach first, then Typhoon Lagoon.

Slightly off topic=Does anyone know if the buses still go to nearby mini-golf when the waterpark closes for winter? If I want to go to winter/summerland mini golf when blizzard beach is closed for winter refurb do I have to drive?
Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to say, if you don’t get an answer here, I’d ask on the Transportation board to get more visibility to your question. I’m not quite sure of the answer myself.

Annoying is one way of putting it. Worse change ever :sad2: yet another cutback in service. Nothing like waiting round wet to change busses.

i do vaguely remember reading this a while back but had forgot - thanks.

We are renting a car while there so may just drive for this day instead of using buses

We (Me, My wife and son) have been 3 years ago and done both - this is more for our friends, travelling with us, who are first timers so they can get a good idea and make the choice overall.
We found BB to be fun and enjoyed the theme but found that there was not as much to do as at TL although back then they ad the reef but looking forward to potentially doing the new Raft ride.
