Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?

We arrive early returning from a Disney cruise and are thinking about hitting a water park the first day since our room won't be ready. Which do you like and why? It will be 4 'just a little bit older adults.'

They're both a ton of fun, you'll be happy with either. Typhoon Lagoon has a more intense wave pool, as in huge and powerful waves. They both have large water slides. Blizzard Beach has a big area for young kids, but doesn't sound like you'll need that. Both have fun lazy rivers. Blizzard Beach has a bit less sand than Typhoon Lagoon if you don't want to get sandy. If I had to pick one, I'd slightly edge to Typhoon because I like the variety of different slides it has, but would have no qualms with Blizzard...in fact my wife and I are spending our date night there tomorrow evening. Floating around the lazy river without our kids = bliss. :boat: :D

We love both, but my family prefers the theming of Blizzard beach. It is so cute with the melting snow and chairlift ;)
But, Typhoon Lagoon has the roller coaster water slides and wave pool that is amazing.
You can't go wrong :)

If you want more relaxation time, Typhoon Lagoon.

If you want more thrills and rides, Blizzard Beach.

BTW - totally worth the $55 to rent an umbrella station. The chairs are much nicer than along the beach and it's very private. You can do it today and get in the 'better' section of each water park.

I chose Typhoon Lagoon between the two parks for several reasons:

-I prefer tube slides vs body slides (while each park has some of each TL has more comparatively)
-I wanted to do the swimming with sharks
-I knew my brother would like the large wave pool rather than the floating pool in Blizzard Beach

I like Blizzard Beach overall, but the Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon is one of the coolest things in either park. At BB though the view from the top of Summit Plummet is the best of all WDW. It's a tough call, but I vote for BB.

If the wave pool and snorkeling appeal to you - Typhoon Lagoon. If you are indifferent to those, Blizzard Beach! We prefer Blizzard Beach because we like the slides, chairlifts, and general atmosphere. The mini golf near Blizzard Beach is also really nice.

I love both and we are planning a day at each water park during our trip in August. However, I do very slightly prefer typhoon lagoon. Both lazy rivers are really awesome however it seems to me the lazy river in blizzard beach is slightly colder. May just be me. The water that falls or sprays on you at certain spots seems colder than the water sprayed on you at typhoon lagoon. Maybe to give the effect of melting snow??!

Either park is awesome though and you won't go wrong picking either.

I love Typhoon Lagoon. The wave pool is one of my favorite parts of any Disney Trip!

The theming in both parks are great and both are fun in their own ways! you can't go wrong! :)

I prefer TL as PP stated they have more tube rides than body slides. At BB I didn't like having to lay on my stomach on a little yoga mat type things to slide down slides. However, my DH preferred those slides compared to the tube slides. We make a compromise and go back and forth between the two parks on visits. As PP have said the wave pool at TL is much better!
