Blizzard Beach open in October?

We're going to DW in October (5-13) and I have never been to Blizzard Beach so I was looking forward to going. My 15 year old niece (who has been to DW 10 times) told me this weekend that they close BB every Oct to April. I told her that I hoped she was wrong. Was she right or wrong?

She is not correct, the water parks are generally closed in the winter. Only one is closed at a time, and usually for about an month and a half each . I think that the closings are usually in December, January and February

We were in Disney in October 1998 (21st-26th) and went to Blizzard Beach. The weather was great, low eighties and sunny all day. Have fun

Rehabs are tentatively scheduled to begin November 1 so you should be in the clear.

The only thing that may cause a problem is based upon a thread on the Rumors board. There is some speculation that Typhoon Lagoon will undergo a park expansion this year during its rehab period. Since Blizzard Beach is schedule to close for rehab on 11/1, I guess it's POSSIBLE that Disney could decide they need more time to work on TL, and thus accellerate the closure of BB into October.

Pure speculation. In fact, forget I said anything.

Every time we've been (save one visit) to Disney, we've gone in October - the only waterpark that was ever closed was River Country.

It's great in October - plenty warm enough for anyone.
