When we were there last year we did Typhoon Lagoon and we didnt really like it(we got there at opening and we were back at the resort by like 12:30-1:00). The wave pool was cool but that is about it. We are going to be in WDW again this summer and I was thinking about trying Blizzard Beach. I didnt do the Water Park Fun and more option so we would be paying Out of Pocket. So would we like this although we didnt like Typhoon Lagoon. If not I will save my money.(note that we are three guys in our 20s if that matters.)

Yes Bilzzard Beach is worth it.
The slides are a lot more thrilling then what is at TL. The most thrilling would be the 120 ft speed slide summit Plummet. You go down at about 60 mph its a rush.
The down hill double dipper is also a real rush. Im not quite sure how fast it goes but I do know that when you do the double dip you actually come out of your tube so hold on tight.
Surprisingly the family raft ride called teamboat springs is actually pretty fun to not as extreme as the 1st 2 that I listed but its a good time.
All together I would say to do it but get there early because it kinda sucks to have to wait an hour for a water slide.
Hope this helps you.

I love both the water parks, but if you didn't like TL then there is not all that much significantly different at BB. Lazy river, slides, tubes, wave pool.

If there is something more specific about TL you didn't like, we may find out there is something at BB that better fits your need. Otherwise, it's a waterpark (a great one at that) and waterparks are just not some people's cup of tea.

BB and TL are two entirely different water parks. Yes they both have lazy rivers but beyond that, I would say they differ greatly. The wave pool at BB is a traditional wave pool unlike the tidal wave pool at TL. The kiddie areas are different. TL's has much more activities for the little one. BB has a better area for kids and teens.

I would say overall that BB is more family friendly and has better thrill slides.

The ski lift is a nice item too, cuts out climbings steps and carrying tubes.

The main reason that I didnt like TL was because it reminded me of the water park here. If I didnt spend so much time at said water park when I was a kid I may have enjoyed TL more. So how much would a 1 day pass to BB cost?

I was told that it would be a better deal with the cost being only a few or so dollars more( I think its under 10) to add the water park option on with our tickets. I think thats what we plan on doing now.

I think if you are doing more than one water park or Disney Quest it becomes a better deal for you to add the Water park and more options onto your MYW tickets. However, if you only plan to do one water park and nothing else, it's better to just purchase a one day ticket to the water park. If you guys love video games, Disney Quest may be worth adding on the WP&M option - 5 floors of arcade and interactive games. It was quite fun for my DD.

We did TL and DD13 loved it. I think I will have to go with pp's and say that Blizzard Beach offers more thrill slides and your age group may prefer that over the tamer TL. I think we're going to try BB on our next trip in 2010 also. DD loves thrill rides - me not so much.

AXLROSE330...you must live near me, I'm in Va Beach too. Which water park are you referring to...Ocean Breeze or Water Country USA? We're going to WDW in June with the military tickets and contemplating adding on the WP&M feature...shoot...for $25 you can't get into ANY water park here! Is BB a full day water park? HOw about TL? We have three kids' 13 ,8 and 6 who are all dare devils so I doubt very strongly we'd go near the kiddie stuff. Been there, done that, not going back again!

We really loved BB!! I liked the look of TL but overall we had a much better time at BB. We didn't get there at opening though--we got there at about 2pm pretty much when people were starting to leave. We were able to hit all of the slides with little wait. The last hour the park was open it was pretty quiet--we had a blast!!

We tried both waterparks and really loved BB than TL. It will be worth it. :thumbsup2

Have a nice and great trip. :)

I was referring to Ocean Breeze. Man its pretty cool to find another local on here. And a pp mentioned Disney Quest as being a part of the Water Park Fun and More option. We did Disney Quest last year(with the WPF&M) and we didnt like it at all really. The idea sounded really cool but when we got there it just didnt do anything for us. Which is kinda weird cause we play video games a lot. So that is one reason why I decided to forego the WPF&M option.
