DD has two very big blisters on the heels of her feet. She has been marching in parades, shows and practices with color guard quite a bit and has gotten several blisters from the "new" guard shoes. One has popped but two have not and I'm not real sure how to help her get rid of them.

Who has some advise? DD and myself would greatly appreciate any suggestions. She says "other than popping them." OUCH! :sad2:

She needs to be ready to march again and blister free by next Friday.

Band-Aid Blister Treatment. They are bandages, like band-aids, with special blister treatment in the "pad" part. I use them after every marathon (because no matter what I do, I end up with something). I used them after my first marathon when I had about 800 blisters and they allowed me to walk normally again! I highly recommend them.

Thanks. We will try this. I am a new "guard mom" you know (and extremely proud) and I am still learning. If these things work I will make sure she carries them in her bag at all times.

Thanks again!!!

Also try 2 pairs of socks inner pair very thin. Or Bodyglide all over feet . Moleskin also works .These are all preventive .

Like Ladyyredd stated the blisterpads work great for already formed blisters.

DD use to get them from new soccer shoes all the time.

Bodyglide or moleskin. Don't pop them (I'm an ex Burn ICU nurse, so I know skin and blisters) because it just helps introduce bacteria that will prolong healing time. Let them pop on their own. I like the two socks idea. Maybe some of those socks you put on after applying lotion to keep the moisture in? They are thin and snug fitting. Good luck!

OH yeah, Moleskin is WONDERFUL for prevention. I use it for every marathon and put it on all of my hotspots. It's a lifesaver.
