Blister's from Crocs?

Does anyone else get hot spots from wearing crocs without socks? How do you avoid it (without wearing socks). What about in the rain? Do you get blisters when they are wet?

If I wear my crocs without socks I get hot spots where the edge rubs against the top of my foot. I'm just assuming that if I kept wearing them the hot spots would turn into blisters. :confused3

I would really like to wear them without socks, especially in the rain. Does anyone have any advise? Would covering my feet in Body Glide help?

TIA!

you avoid it by not wearing them. ive never been a crocs fan. i own 2 pairs and theyre ok, but by far not my most comfy shoe. admittedly i have never worn them to disney. my disney shoe is my teva mush. cant beat the comfort and they cant give you blisters.

I have the Disney Crocs and I too get a small hot spot on the top of my foot where they rub. Before you put them on in the morning put a piece of Moleskin where they rub and you should be ok.

I agree with the PP who says don't wear them if you want to avoid blisters. Both of my kids got blisters after wearing them the first day and my DS slid across the wet floor in the POP lobby wearing them. It was a wet day and he shouldn't have been running, but those Crocs just seem conducive to water planing very differently than athletic shoes are.

I had a very nice cast member who allowed me to return them even though they were obviously worn. She gave me a merchandise credit, which was very much appreciated.

I've worn my Athens to the parks and ended up with a blister between my big toe and the toe next to it. But that didn't even happen until the last day of the trip and we weren't doing any parks that day.

This trip coming up I've got some new Teva Mush flip flops that I am so anxious to try out in the parks!

youre going to love them!!! i brought my mush as my back up shoe in case my other teva(teri-fi's) were starting to hurt. i wore the teri-fi's for 1/2 the first day and then switched to the mush to give my feet a break. after that switch the mush never left my feet. they were awsome!! i never even got foot fatigue!! infact ive been home for 4 days and im still wearing them. i dont think ill ever wear anything else:thumbsup2

Oh...thanks for the info! I've worn them a little bit around the house and they are so comfortable, so I was hoping they would be as comfy in the parks! I was planning on bringing my Athens as a back up just in case, so hopefully I won't need them! My DH got some Tevas as well, but not the Mush, I can't remember which ones he got, I want to say Downtown, but I'm not sure that's right or not.

Does Teva make women's wide sandles?
i have a wide foot and all of their sandals are adjustable to fit any type of foot. the mush are flip flops and when i first got them they were quite tight and i wasnt sure they would be good for me. i wore them in the rain one day and they stretched out a bit and now are perfect.

I've got a wide foot too and they are just fine on me. I was worried about that when I ordered them online, because I hadn't tried them on, but the site I got them at was a good deal and I figured if they didn't fit me I could either return them or give them to my niece. But they fit just fine!

OP, yes, Body Glide will help :)
Crocs technically aren't supposed to touch the top of your foot at all when you're standing still - that is what prevents so many people from getting blisters. If there's any spot it touches, if you put body glide or moleskin there, it'll prevent the blister there.

I have crocs athens and tevas, and the athens have always been more comfortable walking around for me, my tevas are a back up in case I want a more secure sandal :)

I've almost gotten them from wearing my sandals (Sassari). They rub on the outside of my left foot. I put some Body Glide on and that seemed to help. I haven't had any problems with my Beach or Alice crocs though. My DF has gotten blisters from wearing the Beach Croc but he has wide feet so that might be part of it.

I, too got blisters on the tops of my feet when wearing my crocs last year. This May we went back and I used Body Glide and had no problems at all.
We leave in 7 days, and all I'm packing are crocs! (With Body Glide of course!)

I apparently have delicate feet, I get blisters any time I get new shoes, even Crocs. After a few days, I'm fine. I never wear new shoes to the parks, that's a recipe for disaster. I make sure I wear them several times before I go and that usually works. The Body Glide is another good idea.

As far as I know, Crocs are supposed to fit so loosely that you really shouldn't be touching the top much at all, and not enough for there to be hot spots. Sounds like the pair you have might be too small, or if you have wide feet, you'll either have to live with it, or not wear Crocs. I have wide feet and really shouldn't wear my mary jane Crocs, but they are quite lovely and comfy, and I just change up how I'm wearing them and when I wear them, for our Disneyland trips, and I'm good. I start the day with them with socks (I live in WA and also have been known to be "wool socks and sandals" girl) and as I get warmer I take the socks off (with socks I actually get painful spots on the bottom of my feet, from the nubs rubbing on the socks to my feet), and it makes things better.

As for Tevas, when you have wide feet it's not about the straps being wide enough to go around. Just like with a regular shoe it's not about the "shoe" part stretching to fit. It's about the "last", I believe is the word, fitting your actual foot. And Tevas do NOT work for my wide feet. I've even tried a men's size, b/c the footbed is wider than the women's foot bed, but that just put the arch in the wrong spot, and while I didn't get blisters, I got a very sore arch from the shoe arch pushing up where my foot went down.

So Tevas aren't the be all end all for everyone, especially those of us with wide feet.

And Crocs aren't terrific for everyone, though they are heaven for some of us! :)

Try the bodyglide, see if it works! Do that around town before your trip. If you want to bring them, do so, but maybe bring another pair of shoes with you that day just in case you need to change. Changing shoes each day, and sometimes during the day, is how I last at Disneyland, and I can imagine it being intensified at WDW!

Count me in the "don't wear Crocs" group - I got awful blisters on the bottoms of my feet last year

I bought some Tevas for this trip - I'm hoping for the best!

Plain old stick deoderant/antipersperant works the same as body glide for about 1/20th of the cost. Just rub a bit on the spot and it'll glide all day.

I wear crocs and if I am walking long distances I get one hot spot on the top of my foot where they rub. All shoes rub me in the same spot since I broke my foot, though...so I didn't think it was a problem with the shoes.

1/20th the cost? Where are you getting deodorant for $.30?

OK, thank you everyone. Here is my shoe plan:

I'm going to try wearing my crocs with body glide.
I'll bring lots of no-show socks, in case I want to wear them.
I'll also bring my sandals that are like Teva's but a different brand and fit me, old sneakers and my running shoes.

I will not be packing light this year! ;)
