Blister's from Crocs?

I agree with the poster who said your Crocs are too small if they are rubbing anywhere.
I wore my Croc flip Flops everywhere, everyday with no problems at all.

I get blisters.

I just only wear them to the pool.

While everyone on here LOVES them my feet HATE them. Not enough arch support, blisters.... all around not very comfortable.

Does anyone else get hot spots from wearing crocs without socks? How do you avoid it (without wearing socks). What about in the rain? Do you get blisters when they are wet?

If I wear my crocs without socks I get hot spots where the edge rubs against the top of my foot. I'm just assuming that if I kept wearing them the hot spots would turn into blisters. :confused3

I would really like to wear them without socks, especially in the rain. Does anyone have any advise? Would covering my feet in Body Glide help?

TIA!
I wouldn't cover your feet with body cglide, but I'd rub it on the spots where you'd usually blister. I use Band Aid brand blister blocker and carry it in my bag with me.

My son gets blisters when he wears his crocs without socks. Body glide may help, but I'd hate to wait till I got there to test it.

I got my kids crocks and they both got blisters. They are more then big enough, so that can't be it. I was wondering if it was because they never wear socks, but even still, they get the blisters fast! I was always reading about wearing them in Disney and was wondering if i was just them. Now I see it isn't. Like a PP said, they are great for some, my kids are the ones they arn't great for, and for the cost, I'm not willing to try for anyone else. Thanks for letting me see they arn't the only ones...

Cut some small pieces of moleskin put one on any hot spot and you won't get that blister. I always carry several pieces when we go to WDW and I've given away many of them to others with sore spots.
I have to say Crocs saved my feet after I got some really bad blisters on the bottom of my feet when wearing other shoes. I put on moleskin over the blisters and wore my sons Crocs, if he had not brought his along I doubt I would have been able to visit the parks at all for the rest of my trip.
I am bringing both my Caymans and a pair of croc sandles on our Dec trip, both are well broken in so I am planning on no blisters!

I just got some of the Dr School's Miracle Shield and LOVE it - I assume that's the same as Body Glide? I saw someone here post about it and thought I'd give it a try breaking in some new sandals before I went. Then DD used it for some closed toed shoes she had to get for clinicals and loved it. I'd never heard of the stuff - keep it in my purse now!

And I'd wondered if deodorant would work - it seems like the same consistency - but I like the size of the Miracle Shield better for my purse!

Disney Debbie - Where did you find the Dr. Scholl's? Body Glide is kinda hard to find around here.

I just bought some of the Dr. Scholl's Miracle Shield yesterday for my upcoming trip, glad to hear that it works well! I found mine in the Pharmacy section at Wal-Mart, it was $4.50...Also got some of those gell insoles for some shoes without much cushion/support to wear in the parks. I must try those out before I go, think they have to be cut down to size. Got DH a pair of Dr. Scholl's walking shoes for $30, he has wide feet and they come in wide, so he's happy! :goodvibes He could care less about the expensive brands, as long as his feel are comfy he's good to go! :cloud9:

I have wide feet and really shouldn't wear my mary jane Crocs, but they are quite lovely and comfy, and I just change up how I'm wearing them and when I wear them, for our Disneyland trips, and I'm good. I start the day with them with socks (I live in WA and also have been known to be "wool socks and sandals" girl) and as I get warmer I take the socks off (with socks I actually get painful spots on the bottom of my feet, from the nubs rubbing on the socks to my feet), and it makes things better.

This is my experience, too (socks not necessarily helping, but actually worsening if worn a long time]. Though my Mary Janes work fine on my wide feet, and I have pretty wide feet. I find that Crocs can vary WIDELY from one pair to another. I know I got a wider pair, because I bought brown ones in the same size and they feel tight.

As for Tevas, when you have wide feet it's not about the straps being wide enough to go around. Just like with a regular shoe it's not about the "shoe" part stretching to fit. It's about the "last", I believe is the word, fitting your actual foot. And Tevas do NOT work for my wide feet. I've even tried a men's size, b/c the footbed is wider than the women's foot bed, but that just put the arch in the wrong spot, and while I didn't get blisters, I got a very sore arch from the shoe arch pushing up where my foot went down.

So Tevas aren't the be all end all for everyone, especially those of us with wide feet.

Absolutely. The Teva's with my wide feet don't work at all. The placement of the straps and all are just all wrong. I wish they worked--people rave and rave! But I can't wear them at all.

And Crocs aren't terrific for everyone, though they are heaven for some of us! :)

Try the bodyglide, see if it works! Do that around town before your trip. If you want to bring them, do so, but maybe bring another pair of shoes with you that day just in case you need to change. Changing shoes each day, and sometimes during the day, is how I last at Disneyland, and I can imagine it being intensified at WDW!

Body Glide doesn't help me at all for feet, and it wears off fast on me even under the best circumstances for "chub rub" (and it's not like I am a sweaty person, I'm not! I don't know why it doesn't last!

Count me in the "don't wear Crocs" group - I got awful blisters on the bottoms of my feet last year

My Crocs are well loved. I wear them all the time! So they were well broken in for our trip and I was pleased to give them a run for their money at WDW...and I got QUARTER SIZED BLISTERS on my feet the first two days, and ended up in a ECV on my 4th day because I was in such pain trying to walk on my horribly blistered feet. I have no idea why it all of a sudden became so awful, but it did. I would never wear Crocs for long days int he parks again. I will probably still pack them--for short runs like pool or restaurants in the hotel. But never for park days.

MapleGirl, thnx for asking this question! and thnx to all of you who have answered! i have yet to try crocs and after some of these responses, i probably will not. might look into tevas. i made the horrible mistake of packing nothing but my nikes on my first trip to WDW back in sept 06. spent every night soaking my feet and coating them in vasiline before bed :rotfl: Looking forward to breaking in some comfy shows before my nov trip.

I know everyone loves their crocs, but the solution to the OPs question is wearing good shoes, not cheap ones (crocs). Runners that are well broken in are the best footwear. I wear crocs too, but not for long durations.
