Good Morning,

I know this has been discussed before but I could not find the right thread! What is the product that helps prevent blister's on your feet? I have always packed various shoes and a lot of band-aids!!! Is there another solution??

Thanks,

Heidi

After reading this board a few years ago I use spray deoderant on my feet. Spray your entire foot including your toes then put on your socks. We have done this for our last 4-5 trips and no blisters. When I first read it I thought people were crazy but it works. I have my new can ready for our trip next month.

Good luck and have a great trip!!

Maybe you're thinking of moleskin? We used it on our last trip and it was a godsend!! I found it at either Wal-Mart or CVS. :thumbsup2

There are quite a few products out there. Bodyglide is great, but the Arrid antipersperant cream in the little tubs is also good and is usually what I use. Avon makes an antiblister balm and Monistat makes an antichafing cream. Some people also highly recommend coating your feet with plain old vaseline every morning. Someone on here has also mentioned putting duct tape on your feet every day, but that one I haven't had the nerve to try.

You may also want to buy some moleskin and place it ahead of time on the solebed of your shoes where you are prone to get blisters. I've always carried moleskin but, so far have not had to use it.

Stuff I've used that works very well for preventing blisters:

Good walking shoes; for me that was Teva Pretty Rugged leather or my Ecco Cosmos sandals. At least two pairs of shoes to alternate.

Bodyglide, Blistershield, Avon anti-blister balm and Moleskins all have worked great for me. I usually use Bodyglide on my feet and Blistershield for chafing on my thighs. I found spray on antipersperant to not be effective for me.

I also take a couple of motrins each morning and at night I soak my feet and finish up my day with Dr. Scholl's Peppermint cream

If I'm changing my shoes mid-day, I use GOLD BOND® Medicated Foot Spray as a nice refresher for my feet.

Haven't had a blister in at least 5 trips now but used to get them all the time.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!!! I'm going to purchase some BodyGlide and give it a try!!!

Just can't wait to get on that plane!!!

Heidi

Try cool max socks. you can get them at target.
I wore them on a disney trip and I didn't have any
problems whatsoever with blisters.

I'm with you bcinohio ! Spray deoderant works great!!!! I read it here before our last trip, thought it sounded wierd, but gave it a try. Our feet felt great ( almost like we were walking on clouds :rotfl: ) We will be going in August with our Dove spray deoderant! I wonder if it works when you wear crocs????

I'll second using CoolMax socks from target. I have never had a blister using these.

We just got back from a week at WDW- our first trip. Thanks to all the tips I read on the DISboards, my feet did pretty well. I typically have feet that tire out quickly, but I read up on these boards and went to WDW prepared. First, I bought a pair of Crocs for my whole family! They were GREAT. They were prefect for the off and on rain showers we encountered as our feet dried quickly and I did not have to worry about the kids tracking through the puddles or playing in the pop up sprayers they have as their shoes dried out quickly! Also, I took some BodyGlide and some moleskin and when I started to feel a "hotspot" I covered it with either a mole skin pad or rubbed on a bit of Body Glide. I never would have kept up with DD11 and DD8 without these things.

Dr Scholl's Moleskin, it's like a bandaid, but you put it on your feet where you think you will get blisters, side of toes etc and it works great, we had no blisters or nothing and we loved the product.

I did use my crocs for a whole weekend in Lindsborg KS for their Midsummer Festival and had no sore feet whatsoever, so they are being packed for WDW :thumbsup2

hi
if the area is just reddened not broken or blistered use duct tape. far cheaper than moleskin. works extremeley well!

Everyone, thanks for the excellent ideas! I was just about to ost a thread on this very subject.

I was wondering the same thing about wearing crocs and also does it matter which deoderant you use?

It needs to be an anti-perspirant...not just a deodorant. Remember to apply sun screen to your tootsies and tops of your feet if you are wearing sandals or flip flops.

Where in a store do you find Bodyglide? I have never been able to find moleskin for my Disney trips until someone posting on this thread mentioned it was by Dr Scholls. That was the "jog" that I needed to be able to find it. I have always been looking with the bandaids. I never thought to look with the foot care products! :scratchin So, before I pull my hair out trying to find Bodyglide, I should probably find out where to look.

Looks like i need to add some things to my packing list!! I am wondering about the deodarent with crocs as well.
