My neighborhood Blimpie's FINALLY got the Low Carb menu going this week. I promised Michael I'd get him a combo and we had a coupon for the free brownie with the combo.

I get there and was SHOCKED to see that the brownie was $2.49! A little square! I asked about the combo and she said it was $7.99.... .... for a sandwich, chips and a drink? I just left Ruby Tuesday and got a sit down lunch for only one dollar more!

I think the new Low Carb revolution has alot of people jumping on the bandwagon but trying to rob us in the process...

Just order the Blimpie's best and throw away the bun, Robin. Sounds like Blimpies low carb menu is a rip off

Robin.........Im wit....cha.........
all the low carb stuff has me wondering as well these days. I though perhaps it cost more to make but I think that they are really taking advatage.........
The good thing is that now that it has become more popular I think prices will began to get competitve!
For instance, I was in the supermarket today and bought low carb bagels by thomas (not as low as Id like 16 net carbs) anyway, I bought them for 2.99........2 weeks ago I bought stkins brand (only ones they had) but they were 4.99 and alot smaller.
So price was better and bagel is bigger which would explain the higher carb.

Just a matter fo time I think before low carb becomes a rpoduct thats here to stay (like low fat). so the prices will go down....I think......I hope! lol

Just get a salad instead. You can get any of the 6 inch sandwiches as a salad at the same price.

Or go to Subway and get a wrap there. At least it's relatively reasonable.

Sorry, guys but there is nothing IMO like a Blimpie sandwich.... I thought this would be a way for me to enjoy one again.

I've tried their salads... two tons of shredded lettuce! I can do that at home!

The lady behind the counter was even embarrassed when she quoted the prices. I told her Never Mind, and she apologized.

I agree they will HAVE to come down once the demand comes down. It's the old "supply and demand" theory, they know that the people want them so they know they can get the money....

I agree the prices are too high, but those new sandwiches are good.
We usually just get the sandwich only, and then eat it at home.
The 1st brownie I had from there was really good, but then a couple of weeks ago I got another, and wound up throwing it away! I don't know if it was my taste changing or what, but I will be wasting no more money on those.

Brier Rose: Your review is the reason I checked it out in the first place!

The sandwich by itself is $5.00, I just don't think it's worth it. I can make my own sandwich with that option!

Too bad... Subway is making a killing with their wraps, which are not only good but very sensibly priced. Blimpie's will have to learn, the one I went to was nearly empty a 1 in the afternoon and you have to stand in line in Subway down the block!

just had the subway wrap for lunch
they aren't huge but were filling
I think it was $3.49 or $3.99
I would get it again in a heart beat
well worth it
