DAY EIGHT: OUR LAST DAY

It was hard to believe how quickly our week had flown by. We left the kids sleep in again and we packed as much as we could as we needed to leave early the next morning. Dh & I decided to cancel our coveted 8:00 reservation at California Grill that night to spend more time at the parks with the kids. We knew they would enjoy it more. So we canceled, but did reschedule at Le Cellier for dinner. We took the bus to Epcot. Ds & I took a quick trip thru Ice Station Cool and we headed to the World Showcase. We went to Mexico first. On our way, we saw the Characters On Holiday Bus go by. In Mexico, we did the boat ride and found the Kidcot station. The kids colored their masks and got their passports stamped. They really enjoyed doing the Kidcot program and passports. Then we headed to Canada for our early dinner reservation at Le Cellier. The food was really good. The breadsticks and steaks were great. Dd ate about ½ my steak.

Then we did all the countries the rest of the way around, visiting the Kidcot station in each one. In UK, we saw Pooh, Tigger, & Eeyore. In France we saw Esmerelda. She was very sweet. She asked dd to dance in the street with her. What a precious moment that was. And then we saw the Beast. Dd had been asking to see him the whole trip as she loves Beauty & the Beast. He was just headed to a break when we arrived, so we waited for him in the perfume shop. Now that the moment was upon her, she was a little afraid. She was first in line to see him and he gave her the silk rose he was carrying. Another magical moment we will always remember!

After our trip around the world, it was 8:00 pm. We decided we were too tired to wait for Illuminations although I was really sorry to have missed it – next time!!! I was a little teary as we got off the bus the final time. We headed back to the room and went to bed as we had to be ready for bell services at 7:30 am the next day.

You had me all teary-eyed about your little blessings. I, too, am blessed with an adopted DD age 9. We brought her home at 17 days old. There's nothing like them! We tried to conceive for 9 years, the last two of which we were on the adoption list. Enjoy the time, I realize now that she's already 1/2 gone from under our roof. Nine more years and she'll be off to college!

How cool that the Beast gave your DD a rose! That is something you will always remember. :)
