Bless you?

I can't stop sneezing today and everyone keeps blessing me. Exactly where did the bless you come in when sneezing occurs? I bless you to people too and have no idea why.

Jason, I can't take a pic and sneeze at the same time. When I sneeze, my whole body is in action.

MB, you must be seated next to the pepper shaker too often. I think bless you would cover both bases though.

IMO, anyone who gets offended because you say Bless You after they sneeze needs to seriously get some help...

I say it without thinking. But if anyone does get offended, I usually tell them gesundheit. The only person that's ever acted offended was my brother, but he's only trying to be funny.

Cynsaun, my ds saw that episode recently. He went around saying that until his sister said thank you.

LOL, I'm not sure, EsmeraldaX. Can he bless a Baptist? If not, I'll only be singularly blessed.

I'm pretty sure the Pope can bless anyone he darn well chooses to. I think that's one of the job benefits (along with the kicky hat).

But when family sneezes I usually always say God Bless You..

Funny about the religion thing....here at work, I have a minister and the son of a minister and when I sneeze neither one blesses me! Are they trying to tell me something?!!!

I say bless you to anyone and everyone when they sneeze. I'll interrupt conversations to say it. Strangers, family, even animals!!!! They other day io was in the car with my friend and Her Dh sneezed. I was in the car and he was outside and I said bless you. She thought that was funny. He couldn't even hear me. I do it without even thinking or realizing I'm doing it.
