Blended O'HANA: lights, water fountains, and characters OH MY!

First of all IM SO JEALOUS! My husband wants to turn our house into an extension of Be Our Guest. And I like the theatrics, but I do have limits. So he got a "be our guest" towel in the half-bath, along with the "show me the beast" mirror, some rose petals on the back of the toilet, and a Tale as Old as Time wall art piece.

Homeboy wanted the tapestry with the claw marks, the stained glass in our window, blue and gold curtains, among other rather big ideas.

But this is the article I saw it in:

I hope that posts as a link. Honestly, it's easy to miss if they did have it out. I think this was the first trip for me where those walls were up around Fantasyland, and it's nestled into one of those. Or it was last year. There are links at the bottom of the page where it looks like they break it out for other special times, too.

Epcot-Touring Around the World Continued.

So far I've made it about half way through World Showcase. It was getting latter in the afternoon so we didn't really spend too much time in any of the countries after enjoying a snack and rest in America. We stopped for a bit in Italy.

DSC_0499.JPG DSC_0503.JPG

Michelle enjoyed a drink and the traditional wish made in the fountain. Has anyone every been here when the grapes were growing? When we came in 2009 at the end of June we found grapes growing in the smokers' area in Italy. I've never seen it since.

We stopped briefly in Germany. I have to stop here every trip for my caramel treat. This is a must do for me every trip. Sometime I get a little something extra but I always get the chocolate & caramel turtle. That shop just smells too darn good.

DSC_0505.JPG DSC_0506.JPG DSC_0507.JPG

We spent just a brief time in China. Touring with little ones is very different than having older kids or no kids. I do like to pick up some ginger chews when we pass through China. I found they settle my tummy when the rides or plane rides get to me. I shared some with Michelle on the plane ride down.

DSC_0509.JPG

We finally made our way back around to Norway. It was a lot more crowded than the first time we passed through.

DSC_0510.JPG DSC_0511.JPG

We did not ride the Frozen ride on this trip. Just not enough FPs and our mad dash of the day was for Test Track. I would like to try to do this in December. We're only planning one day for Epcot and it will be after Michelle, Jimmy & Gia leave. JP really does love Olaf now.

We were finished with the World Showcase and now ready to spend some more time in Future World. Of course JP was ready for some more water fun. We really did have a great time watching him play in the fountains.

Up next the end to our Epcot day and the dinner that took forever.

Never seen or even heard of that.
But... grapes in the smoking area? Betcha I can guess what killed them!

Oh really? I've never heard of them. Huh.

I wonder what that says?
I did a quick Google search but didn't find anything.

Love your world showcase pictures! They're making me wish I was back there right now. And little JP playing in the water fountains is precious!

Ha ha ha.

That did not come out right. It's suppose to say "traditional wish". I fixed it. Thanks for helping me. I was rushing to go watch "Victoria" on Masterpiece Theater.

Never seen or even heard of that.

I need to go back and look at my pictures. I'm wondering if that area is gone now that Via Napoli is open. It was either in the back corner there are next to the fountain. I don't smoke but I took my sister on this trip and I think she visited every smokers area.

Oh really? I've never heard of them. Huh.

I'm sure you can get them in other places but they were in the right place at the right time a few trips ago so I usually pick some up. I think I have seen them at World Market too.

I wonder what that says?

I was wondering too. I think this was the first time I really noticed it. Thanks for looking.

I really miss WS. It's so hard having to wait until May when I get to go back. :(

Little JP playing is just so precious! I'm not one who LOVE candy all that much, but I agree it smells wonderful!!

Yep... totally didn't walk on that side of the wall. LOL. Darn it. And I was just talking to DH and we realized we never got a Dole Whip this trip. Guess we have to go back:).

Not amused? ;)

I'm laughing on the inside.

It was the first and last time I saw it. It's amazing how many things are no longer at DW.

May isn't that far. I won't see it again until December.

I like candy too much!

Give me examples of things not for the better?

Just thinking back to our 1999 "first trip ever", I miss Wonders of Life in Epcot. Of course today Disney announced they are finally going to do something and it might be better. We loved the Mulan parade in what was then Disney MGM Studios. Also miss the Stars and Motorcars parade at MGM. My son just happened upon Ben Franklin in Liberty Square in MK. That was pretty neat, up until that point he wouldn't take a picture with a character. We also enjoyed the show in the Diamond Horseshoe Salon. I'm sure there are more. I'll have to go back and look at more pictures.

Epcot- The end is near.

Before I finish up our Epcot day I wanted to share the grapes we saw in Italy in 2009. I think they were near the fountain. The picture before the grapes are of Danielle and my niece sitting on the ledge of the fountain.
Behold...grapes...
IMG_0273.JPG IMG_0274.JPG

They were growing above the benches. I guess they would provide shade during the day but we saw them at night.

Another cool thing we saw on this trip that is no longer in Epcot were the trolls in Norway. They were set up all over the pavilion. It was really fun to look for them. Here are a few I got pictures of.

So back to Epcot in 2018 in Future World. Night was approaching. I love it when the lights start coming on.

DSC_0536.JPG DSC_0537.JPG

We all headed to The Seas to see if we could find Nemo. I think this was the first attraction we all did together.

DSC_0538.JPG

After finding Nemo in our clam shells we decided to do Turtle Talk with Crush. While waiting to go in Gia got to play with both her brothers. The little ones really loved looking at the sea creatures and being able to move around.

A nice picture of the blending.

DSC_0540.JPG

We ate up some time in The Seas and then did some shopping in Mouse Gears. I was still looking for a Grumpy shirt for Dennis. This was a contender.

IMG_3123.jpg

Everyone was getting tired and hungry. We had a very late ADR @ Coral Reef and headed over the try and check in a little early. We parked our strollers with the multitude of other strollers in the Seas area. I think there was some big private party because when we checked in there was people everywhere waiting. We ended up having to wait outside for quite a while. As the crowd thinned out we got to move inside but it was still crowded. We waited for a long time and were finally seated. I think we were some of the last people seated. While we were there we saw most of the restaurant clear out. We were a large party so they seated us on the third tier. It would have been nice to be seated closer for the kids. We were there so long we ended up having no problem going up to the tank after everyone else had cleared out. We didn't have high chairs but some kind of seat that attached to the table. Didn't we have trouble with JP's chair? Michelle do you remember this? On a whole I enjoy Coral Reef although my favorite dinner here was my first. It was just Dennis and I and we were seated next to the tank. It still holds a special place in my heart. We eventually got our food and it was so pretty and delicious. Michelle already posted the food porn. It wasn't too long before JP decided he was not going to stay at the table. Jimmy volunteered to watch over him while he crawled around in the lobby and flirted with the CMs. I eventually went to relieve him and of course JP had done a number in his diaper, number 2. So here we are at my third bathroom incident with JP. You would think by now I would avoid bathroom duty with him. Luckily no one ended up with #1 or #2 on them or their clothes. He was a handful. He did not want to stop playing and he was tired and fussy. He fussed the whole time I was changing him. I stood him up to pull up his pants and he finally stopped fussing when the door opened and 2 teenagers walked in. He turned off the fuss and turned on the charm, all smiles for the girls. He was ready to charm and they did not even look his way. Poor boy. When we got back outside the park was dark and empty. Our strollers were sitting all alone waiting for us. We made the walk to the front of the park and said goodbye to Gia, her Mom, Step-dad and Christian. We really wanted to take a Photopass picture in the front but no one would help us. Of course Jimmy got some candid shots for us with the ball. The day was over and it was time to get some sleep before our next park day.

Once again this park day was different that my past trips. I was happy that I was able to ride Soarin', Test Track and see VOL. I enjoyed seeing the grand kids having fun and enjoying the park. I really enjoyed our breakfast with the Princesses. We didn't rush from one attraction to another or shop in all the stores but different was good. Next trip with be during Christmastime. I'm looking forward to seeing the all the Holiday Happenings.

Flashback to JP’s 1st birthday!
Can you tell me how to make these? They look cute and my wee grandson is having his birthday soon and I’ve promised to help with the food :)
Thanks in advance :)67B7CB00-6ABB-4F58-99C1-2F287A51AED7.jpeg

First of all... yay for updates from Mom! Loving reliving this trip! As we’ve both mentioned, we are steadily planning our next trip this December. Still waiting, hoping, and praying Danielle gets into dcp this fall but we are going either way.

His is actually leaving for Disney with the dance group again on Friday. I asked if she needed anything from my house to pack and she said no, they had certain shirts to wear each day and what not. She sounded disappointed. I told her on our trip we will dress up Disney again. She was like GOOD! A girl after my own heart.

We’ve got both kids birthday parties coming up soon in the new house so I’ve been trying to decorate enough to have guests. I’ll have to take some pictures of the little Disney elements we do. My husband totally drinks the Kool aid. He is always giving me ideas and is constantly thinking about Disney. I guess a lot of that is because we’ve been trying to introduce a new movie every other week with JP so he will recognize things on our next trip. Current favorites are Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, and Cars. He even sings the songs and will finish sentences in the movie.

Anyone have other suggestions? I want to show him things he will like, but that also have a strong presence in the parks! He loves Lion King. I think Nemo might be coming up on the rotation.

Mom made these! It’s the square pretzels with a white chocolate wafer baked (idk the temp or time) with one regular MnM and two mini MnMs pressed on slightly after baking for a very short time. It might even just be microwaved.

Mom, do you remember where you found this recipe?

Thanks for getting back to me. Do you mind if we copy some of your ideas? JP’s party looked like so much fun :)

As for movie ideas what about going old school with The Tigger Movie or Winnie the Pooh and the blustery day. My boys loved them pooh::tigger:

And good suggestions on movies!
