Bldg. (OKW) requests no longer on Confirmation letter

Hi,
I just received my confirmation letter for an upcoming trip. As usual, I had requested certain buildings (with the full knowledge that is is a REQUEST and not a guarantee).
However, my confirmation letter does not list my requests. Every other letter I have received has always listed the requests. I called Member Services today and in a strange twist of fate got the same CM that booked the trip. When I inquired about the missing bldg requests (thinking it was just forgotten), she rudely told me that "they NEVER list the building requests on the confirmation letter"...I told her that it must be a change in policy but she was steadfast in her insistence that it was NEVER done that way...I offered to fax her all of my previous letters (like any good DVC'er I keep 'em all as souvenirs). She then changed her spiel to, "it's up to the CM to do it but there isn't a special code like there is for a non-smoking request so they have to add it on some other way". Bottom line: She was not going to add it but assured me it was "in the computer"...
Am I the only member to have miraculously had my requests printed on the 10+ trips I've taken or has any other member had them listed? Also, anyone else NOT get them listed now?

I would call back and talk to another person. Sounds like the CM was having a bad day. I had some problems getting something on my reservation and it turned out that the original CM never listed it. I'm sure it was a mistake, but it took 3 phone calls, and two more confirmation letters, to make sure everything was on there.

Good luck!

I ALWAYS have ALL my requests listed on the confirmation letter. It is true that the CM must make an extra entry to ensure the request(s) appear on the confirmation. Otherwise the request appears on the check-in record available at the front desk only.

Call again and speak to another CM if you get resistance to having your request printed on the letter.

Are you saying that you have had a SPECIFIC BUILDING number on the confirmation?

I have had my requests on the form but I never requested a specific building number. I didn't know you could do that when making a reservation.

Yes, you can request specific building numbers. For that matter you can request anything you want. We always request the same building at OKW and often have our request met. Of course it is subject availability...my opinion is to make as many requests as you see fit. Just don't be dissapointed if they're not met.

Going back to the OP. This is another example of CM's at MS that are not willing or not able to provide the same service as their co-worker in the next cubicle. I've noticed this to be the case on other issues as well. Overall MS does a great job but I admit to being mildly annoyed when it occurs.

Reality is that some CM's have more experience than others and some CM's will ALWAYS go above and beyond.

One caution with requesting a specific building number. You might be requesting it because it's close to the HH, or bus stop or Turtle Pond pool, or because you had a really nice view of the water from that room, or think you won't have a lot of "road" sound, or because it's a smoking building.
If there is nothing available in that building when they are blocking rooms though, the room assigner has no clue why you requested that building and might assign a room that doesn't fit any of the things you are looking for.

A very good point.
