Blasts from the past

I can't believe no one has mentioned She-Ra!!!

They now have the DVD's at Best Buy. I like to think of Kim Possible as her distant relative...

i loved the miss cookie's kitchen colorforms. mystery date, spirograph, super ball (the black one). i've looked on ebay for the colorforms and spirograph but just can't justify paying those prices. i know i've dated myself but i loved those toys. i also loved the paper dolls that you rubbed over the doll and they were supposed to stay by themselves. never worked too good but they were fun.

What about the show JEM! I know they were rock stars with some secret powers and they ran an orphange for girls! I loved that show! Very 80's!

JEM...truly outrageous, truly, truly, truly outrageous!!!!

AHHH, YEAH...Jem and the Misfits

I love playing with my brother's He-Man and Castle of Greyskull....we had all the characters....Skellator...the green cat thing, the cloaked dude, etc.
I also loved Rainbow Bright and Strawberry Shortcake!!
Anyone remember 3,2,1 Contact...I loved that show!! And what about Rose Petal Place....I used to cry everytime I watched the movie!!!

Your post reminded me of another one: Shrinky Dinks!

When I was a kid, there were paint by number sets where the paint would puff up. I don't remember what they were called, but I remember doing a Spiderman one (I was a bit of a Tom Boy growing up).

Yep! I loved watching The Blood Hound Gang on 3 2 1 Contact.

Don't forget about The Electric Company and Zoom!

Ok, one word- JACKS, Did anybody have these as a kid? I know I wasn't the only one. Me and my friends would sit in the kitchen floor and play with these for hours. I think I still have them somewhere in the house. We would do all the little games or tricks with them, like milk the cow, pick up two, three, four, five at a time, spank the baby and all kinds of crazy things. I remember my mom would get so mad at me because she was always stepping on one.

I also liked pinky and the brain(narf). Two other shows I got a kick out of that came on after that was Freakazoid & Earthworm Jim. I also remember the bananasplits. What about H.R. puffinstuf? land of the lost, elektro woman and dynagirl.:)

Fizzies
Sky King
Tom Terrific and Isatope Feeney
Chatty Cathy
Betsy McCall paper dolls
Tiny Tears
Betsy Wetsey
Little bitty soda bottles made of wax with colored sugar water inside. (I'm sure they had a name, just don't remember it.)
Chum gum
Silly Putty
Barbie Dream Date

I loved Shrinky Dinks.
Friendship beads
Stretch Armstrong (and they had a cartoon for a while)
Kangaroos (the tennis shoes with the zippers) or those little pouches that went on shoelaces that could hold a key and a few dollars. Anyone remember those?
Grape Ape
Auggie Doggie and Doggie Daddy
Cocoa Crispies commercials with the elephant..."It's time for Cocoa Crispies, they are so chocolaty and when I get a taste of them I trumpet happily" I loved that elephant.
Star Wars figures. R2D2 was my favorite.
Holly Hobby sewing machine
Mr. Magoo

I walked away and could not get the 70's and 80's out of my mind...AACK!
Here are a couple more I must share before I forget.
Anyone remember these...
Battle of the Network All-stars. Back when there were only 4 channels and PBS really didn't count. Stars from NBC ABC and CBS would compete on obstacle courses. I can't find anyone else that remembers this one. It must have been in the mid 70s.

Also on Saturday morning there was a cartoon cowboy that came on during the commercials that taught how to make healthy snacks. "When my 10 gallon hat is feeling 5 gallons flat, I hanker for a hunk of cheese...When I'm dancing a hoedown and my boots kinda slow down, a snack that is a winner, and yet won't spoil my dinner, I hanker for a hunk of cheese. Yahoo." I can't believe I remember the jingles. Now I am going to sing them in my head all day! Thanks a lot OP!:rotfl2:
He also showed how to make popsicles using an ice cube tray, toothpicks and plastic wrap.

I remember H.R. Puffinstuff! I also watched Land of the Lost and Elektro Woman and Dynagirl! I believe the latter was part of Kroft Superstars, but I'm not too sure. I wonder if Deidra (sp?) Hall regrets doing that show

Ok, here's a few others:

Sigmund the Sea Monster
Nickelodeon's Third Eye. Movies that were shown in 15 minute increments. Some of the shows were The Labryinth, The Witches and the Grinnygog (sp?) and The Haunting of Cassy Palmer.
