I was going through my old photos and came across this one. I thought someone might enjoy this. It was taken December 1996.

As unpopular as this was, I truly regret that this is the one year I did not get to go to WDW.

We honeymooned there in October 1996, so we have pics of me and DH in front of that castle. Thanks for the memories!:love:

We have this picture too! That was the year that I had taken my mom on her first trip ever to disney! We were there the first week of december, so we got to see the christmas decorations AND the castle all done up. That was one of my best trips!

As tacky as it was I wish we could have seen it. I think it came down just months before our first visit there.

I'm just glad I wasn't there in the shoulder times... when the frosting wasn't up yet but the castle was half painted PINK! UGH!

I have asked this question before, and I seem to be the only one who remembers it, but does anybody remember the 25th Anniversary Golf Cart that they used to rent out from the Bike Barn?

It was the same color pink as the castle, and had a big "25" on the front.

They would rent it out to random guests as a part of the 25th anniversary celebration.

I probably have a photo of it somewhere, but I have not yet found it (pre-digital camera days).

Hello TCD ......... I remember it but I don't think I have a picture to post!

I think refacing the castle for the different special events is a bit over the top, but whoever decided to add the icicle lights at Christmas needs a really big attaboy. I haven't seen the Orlando castle yet (in person), but did get to see Sleeping Beauty's castle in Anaheim this past Christmas. It's a really spectacular effect. Way cool.

We went to DL and saw it this year as well. I tried to get to DW to see it but it never worked out. It was a really spectacular sight!

The best part about the icicle overlay is that it is nearly invisible during the day. I mean, you can see it when you get up close but you'd never know it was there in folk's Main Street photos.

Icicles = good
Cake frosting, giant wands, and sorcerer's hats that hide the Chinese Theater = bad (IMO).

:santa:

We got to see it. It wasn't pretty,,but it was different. Some folk didn't like it,, I thought it was kinda fun.
