I'm planning a wedding and got an idea from a thread over there to have each guest paint their own blank vinylmation. But for 140 guests that could get very expensive very quickly, so I was wondering if there was any way to buy the blank characters in bulk that anyone knew of? Or should I just scope out ebay? I don't mind different colors, but we'd like them to be blank to start obviously.

Another idea would be to just buy a few of the taller 9" figures and let multiple people sign them.

Maybe one blank 9" per table for the guests to sign?

140 guests (with 8 per table) breaks down to 18 tables. 18 tables times $40 per 9" vinyl equals $720. (plus a gift/remembrance of enormous size)

Giving each guest a 3" is $1260 and also a large amount of space.

Maybe a few of them near the card box/present table?

We could maybe do a 3" per family if there's no way to buy in bulk... We have something like 67 families. And to be honest it was just an off the cuff idea. In a perfect world I'd just win the lottery and buy everyone a nine inch statue!

So there's no way to buy in bulk at all? Maybe I'll put in a call to merchandise later today.

Another suggestion would be the ice cube tray that's available. It molds (I think) 12 vinyl halves and it's only $16.95. You could get that and experiment with making your own blanks. I don't know how well plaster or another material like that would work in it, but it might be worth a shot. I've heard chocolate works in it, but I haven't tried it myself.

I just got home and tried to call the merch number. Got a recording that they closed at 5:30... Looked at my phone... 5:32. Dangit!

Just a thought, the Disneystores are sitting on a ton of these make your own vinylmation. Both sizes, but more of the 3" size. They just do not seem to sell in the stores. It is possible they may have to reduce them in price eventually.....

Went to the Disney Store and they informed me they don't sell the blanks in the stores, only online. So this afternoon I took the plunge.

I bought 12 blanks, 10 for the bridal party, one for my bride to be, and one for me. We're going to have them each paint one vinyl, and the ones we paint for each other will be our wedding topper.

We've also contacted an artist who is going to paint up a set of 9" vinyls to look like a bride and groom. She's really nice, and a former Disney employee.

Really excited to get all of this rolling! Thanks for your tips!
