Just thought, that my fellow seasonal pass holders might want to know that effective today 6/22/05 that the blackout dates have been lifted :goodvibes The lady that I spoke to said that we should be recieving something in the mail as notification and that she believed this was good until the end of the year. :cool1:

I would think the florida holders that bought the unlimited pass (for much more money I might add) are going to be a bit hot about this one if it is true. It is also really going to add to park crowding during some very peak times. Not sure I think its a good idea, but I can see how it will make some people very happy!

unlimited pass holders still get the free parking that we do not and at a little over 100 dollars difference in ticket price I think they still get their moneys worth. She said this is being done because of the happiest celebration festivities. I am very happy about it!!

Give us a break! The parks are crowded enough and we are paying top dollar to go. It made sense to restrict residents to the off peak seasons. What the heck is Disney thinking? :confused3

You know I have decided that you cannot post anything on this forum, even something that seems to be good news! I mean come on the year is half over and they are giving us a couple of free weeks to go in (the blackout period for this summer was considerably longer than last year for your information) which pretty much makes it about equal to the black outs we had for summer last year so I think we maybe are getting Christmas week as a bonus. Yet all but one of the replys are negative. Any other time you all would be complaining about Disney being cheap, they are actually doing something nice. I think this will be my last contribution to this website because it seems that everyone just comes here to debate and argue. Geez Give me a break!!!!

Okay, I called the pass line and got transferred to WDW Travel and then to the main switchboard and again asked if the restriction had been lifted and was told,"No. We are too busy at this time due to the HCOE to do that." So my question for those of you who called the pass line and got through to a real person, how exactly did you speak to someone to confirm it?

I posted this on another "SP date lifted thread."

It is really difficult to find out anything by phone with Disney, I talked to what must have been 15 different people (and was on the phone for an hour at least) about trying to upgrade my pass so that I could visit the park with my sister tomorrow for her birthday. The woman I finally was put in touch with by way of a very helpful Disney operator said that they had just recieved an email confirming the lifting of the blackout dates effective immediately. I am sorry but I don't know what department she was in I am thinking either guest services or passholder services if there is such a thing.

Obviously they forgot how special you are. Who knows what they were thinking?

ummm......the more crowded the more money is spent thus making a better bottom line....

what makes your money different than ours? We pay top dollar to go as well - luckily we are close enough to go more than once or twice a year.

and there are many residents who have the full AP...so WDW isn't restricting residents.....we can go ANYTIME WE LIKE.....nanni nanni boo boo!!

You do realize that not all FL residents are restricted from going to WDW during the blockout dates for Seasonal Passholders. Locals and many other FL residents will be attending the parks during peak season, some may have Annual Passes and some purchase the regular tickets. My DD's friend's family is going to WDW next week and they don't have annual passes.

The crowds must be lower than Disney expected for this time period, that's the only reason I can think of for their decision.

As of today the block on seasonal passes at the gates has been taken off. I am pretty sure she said the Christmas blockout dates still apply but I wasn't really listening when she got to that part since I was so excited that I could get a trip in before the kids start back to school. Because they did this I booked a trip for a couple of weeks from now (also several priority seating's). I was able to get the FL res rate with no problem and actually had many hotels to choose from. :flower: :wave2:
