Blackout dates for Alamo coupons???

Strange.....I booked an suv through Alamo the other month and now whenever I try to check rates for my dates to see if they came down it's says coupons can not be applied. It doesn't matter if it's the entertainment book coupon or the coupon through alamo's own website , they won't work. Anyone else have this problem??? My dates are 11/13-11/22 (t-gving day is the 22nd) It's really strange as I was able to use the Walmart code w/entertainment book coupon on my ressie I made 2 months ago but now it won't accept any coupons. It's very frustrating!!!! Guess it's good I booked early!

Does the coupon exclude SUVs? Are you trying to mix and match rate codes and coupons?

I just re-read your post. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the coupons/discounts are blacked out Thanksgiving weekend.

I was able to use a coupon for my October rental. I've been checking every few days to see if there was a price drop. Starting yesterday or the day before it said coupon can't be applied.

I have definitely had that problem all day today and read about it in the National thread posted above.

But I still can't imagine that my Entertainment Coupon would not be valid for that reason - booked beyond capacity. The coupon never mentions subject to capacity and that could be a breach of contract on either Entertainment Book or Alamo if that policy is implemented.

I'm just going to wait a few days to check again.

I was checking my dates too. Coupons for $20 direct from the Alamo site and coupon's for BJs are not working...been checking for a few days too. My dates are Sept 22-30, 2007. I have a reservation with the BJs coupon printed out already, but I was hoping the rates would go down. Doesn't look that way right now if I can't use a coupon.

I have had the same problem for our late October reservation.A couple of days ago I was able to book a mid size SUV with mousesavers code and the alamo coupon and yesterday when I saw the rate for a regular mid size car had gone down I tried to book that instead and I could not apply the coupon.

All rental car coupons are subject to "availablity" EVEN if you don't see it. They get around that by "linking" the coupon to the "rate" and making the "rate" unavailable.

For Thanksgiving weekend I would not be surprised if the coupons are not useable.

I find it hard to believe that all the coupons are not working for three months, due to them reaching limitations. I tried the same period for Sept, Oct, Nov, and the coupons are not working. They did work for Dec.

what you mention here about alamo is the same thing happening on the national website...their website coupon does not work until dec 1

when i called national today to ask about it, asking if it might be a glitch, the agent there told me that her screen was showing "capacity control limit" fpr the coupon code

looks like the good old rental rate days are coming to an end too

I should have mentioned in my post that I wasn't looking at Thanksgiving weekend - that was the OP. I was looking at rates for September and October at both the Orlando airport and the Tampa airport and was encountering the same problem. BUT, it did deduct for the coupon on my December reservation.

just tried tampa with national for october and it accepts the 30$ off coupon NF1982JDD but orlando does not allow that coupon

Just an FYI: We're flying into Tampa over Thanksgiving weekend and I had no trouble using the National coupon.

Maybe I unintentionally lied. I did so many reservation checks with different code and coupon combinations yesterday for my multiple trips . . . I can hardly remember my name. My bad if that wasn't accurate about Tampa. I actually can't remember now.

Must be the dates and availability, I am picking up an Alamo rental on 10/1 at the Car Care Center and changed my reservation again last night. I was able to use a coupon.
