Blackhawks Parade

Does it make a difference? They are a Chicago team and they won a championship, can't the citizens be proud? I am not a fan of any sport, but I was at the rally cheering on my CHICAGO team. I guess that makes me a bandwagon fan, which is fine with me. :goodvibes

And yet I don't have the thousands of dollars like you do, you "real" Hawks fan you. So even us folks with less money to toss around CAN be real fans. Just because you are a season ticket holder, it does not make you any better than the rest of us. :thumbsup2 Everyone who is a fan celebrates their team in their own way. Going to games is not a requirement.

Going to games is a requirement for "real" fans. The rest are just bandwagoners and wannabees.

With regards to my money, yeah I actually go to work and save my money and spend it on things that are important to me... ding ding ding, like the Hawks!

This too! :thumbsup2 Woo Chicago! :)

Are the 8,000+ people that are on the waiting list for season tickets not "fans" in your eyes ?

They are fans if they attempt to buy single game tickets that go on sale every year. There were 2,000,000 people at the parade.

Why do you get to define what a real fan is/does? What makes you so special?

Refer to my post at the top of page 2.

Ya know you can support your team by purchasing their merchandise, not just their tickets. While I may not be able to afford Hawks tickets, I could afford a Hawks hat. The money still ends up in the same place.

All you can afford is a hat? What about all those Cubs games you're going to?

Well, I was making a more general point. And plus, I prefer baseball over hockey. So yes, I would only buy the Hawks hat, and save the rest of my money for Cubs games. :)

Dismagic, are you feeling a little grumpy today? Couldn't get the day to go see the parade with the fans? I can understand being wadded-up a little about that, since you're such a big fan and all.

Okay well sorry buying a hat doesn't make you a Hawks fan. You are a Cubs fan though, no doubt about that.

Nope I just hate bandwagoners. Foolish, foolish.

True but keep in mind that the Hawks are one of the highest salary cap teams in the NHL, they might be the highest actually. So it would be nice for people to support them by actually buying tickets. If nobody buys tickets, you don't have a team, especially not one that is paying millions to sign top tier players.

Thanks for the update, I live in Germany and have for the last 12 years, so I really wasn't even aware that they had made it this far. Europe is football (soccer) obessed!

Whatever you say! At least my purchase of a measly $20 hat is still financially supporting the team, a requirement you admitted to yourself. :thumbsup2

:lmao:

Of course they tried to buy tickets. How else do you think that their names got added to the list?
