Blackberry Question/Mystery

Ok can someone who is more technologically savvy please explain this to me. DH and I are perplexed!

DH got a new blackberry for work yesterday afternoon. He had turned in his old Blackberry in May at his last duty station and wasn't issued a new one until now at his new duty station (different Army base). The new blackberry is brand new and has a totally different number than his old one. The cell service is contracted out with AT&T. DH's personal cell phone is a Palm Treo thru Verizon.

This AM I asked DH to call me from the new Blackberry so I could save the number in my cell phone. He dialed the number on his Blackberry manually right in front of me and the screen showed the nickname he has me under in his Treo! He then dialed the home phone number manually and it came up as "HOME". WHAT?????????

Are Blackberrys psychic or did it somehow pull the phone list from his Treo???

Both phones are Bluetooth compatible but DH hasn't set up the headset yet on the Blackberry.

How on earth did this happen???

Sounds to me like he synched his Treo with, say, Outlook and then set up the Blackberry to also synch with the same Outlook.

I did this when I went from my Palm to my Blackberry. All of my Palm information transferred to the new device (the BB).
