So our wireless service is being discontinued and we have to find a new provider. We're thinking of Verizon since most of our friends and family are on Verizon.

Right now Verizon has a BOGO offer on the Blackberries. DH is convinced if he doesn't get a Blackberry he'll just die. :rotfl:

I know it would be great, but I'm afraid I absolutely would be checking my work email all the dang time.

DH and I love our Blackberries with Verizon! He got one in December and can't imagine not using one now. You don't have to send your work emails to it if you don't want to. I just sent emails from a couple different personal accounts into it because I have a separate work BB.

I really like my Blackberry, but it is addictive! I find myself checking my email all the time! I don't have work email, but if I did I wouldn't have it sent to my Blackberry because I would feel like I was carrying work around in my pocket all the time. My Blackberry has full web service, so I can still check email that isn't sent directly the Blackberry, but it's a little harder to do.

My DH and I upgraded to Blackberries last week with the BOGO deal (I had a credit so I got 2 for $50). It's totally addictive. I also don't have work email forwarded. Only personal email. I check Facebook and DIS WAYY TOOO often now ;) My only complaint so far is that the battery dies really quickly. I had a phone that only needed to be charged every 3 days. The blackberry really needs to be charged nightly.

I love mine. I got it shortly after Christmas, I think, and I seriously can't live without it.

I'm not a high-end user, but I love that I can have my family's calendar with me at all times. DD is asthmatic, so we end up with multiple doctors' appointments, and this is the best way of keeping track of all of them. Plus I can access my e-mail anytime, and use the internet, too!

I love it, and would recommend it highly.

OMG - I'm already addicted to Facebook now, I can just see my addiction grow!!

This is one of the features that compel me to get one, I am constantly thinking how wonderful it would be to have mobile reminders like I get at work.

We'll probably end up getting them - it's a great deal and kind of too hard to pass up.

I've had a blackberry for work since january and I barely use it. I needed it for when I travel for work so I can keep up with emails and things during quick meeting breaks, etc without having to vpn into my work email otherwise I wouldn't have gotten one. I decided before i got it I was not going to be one of those people that are constantly working in the off hours and I've kept to it. Very rarely - mostly if i'm somewhere waiting for something (order to pick up or the like) I'll check it for a minute to pass the time, but that's it.

Loving called the CRACKberry at our house.

I have mine for work but use it for personal stuff. I don't find the work e-mail overtakes me. In fact, I love it because I have a lot more flexibility to leave early (or on time) or be at meetings and know I can be reached.
I have 2 kids, one of whom is in school, and being a working mom I find that at least I can stay connected all the time.

Let me just say that I am now one week post dropping my Blackberry in the sink and although I have survived, it has been torture! No internet access in random places, no easy texting and the paine of using the teeny-tiny cell phone we keep for emergencies...I can't wait til by new Blackberry gets here on Monday.

I have the blackberry world. Got it 2 weeks before my last Disney trip. All I did was deal with work issues the entire trip. :sad2::sad2: I was so mad at myself for not waiting until we got back. While I now cannot live without it, it was not a good decision for me to get one when I did. :rolleyes1

I love my Blackberry!! I use it all the time. I don't think I could live without it. I have to look up a lot of things for my business and a lot of times I am not near a computer so having internet access all the time is a huge plus!!

another blackberry lover here. I love that I can check email and my facebook and in with friends at the same time

Ok DH has a crackberry for work, they pay for it and well I call it a crackberry for a reason. It seems like he is always on it. He has been know to answer and email during dinner. UGH It is the most annoying thing he does!!! I also refer it as Karen his computer wife. (my friend Karen doesn't appreciate this! :lmao: ) He also has both home emails go to his blackberry aswell. There have been a time or two that it has come in handy but if you do have your work emails come to it you will most likely be answering them all the time.

:)Dh and Ihave had ours since the end of February. He really likes his Pearl. He got me one and I just could not use the keys:upsidedow--with the whole double clicking the keys and stuff. We went back 3-4 days later and I exchanged my Pearl for a Curve. Which is a much better option for me. I do not have a facebook or MySpace Page. The DIS is my addiction. I just really don't have the need for it at work. No signal down in the belly of the hospital where my office is...five minute trip to work from house....my own computer and office at home. :rolleyes:It is a very expensive telephone. I am 40 and the 25 year olds around me at work love their phones. I guess it makes me feel important to whip out a Blackberry when I need it :confused3:rotfl2:

You can easily deal without a blackberry. Get an iphone. I am changing from my BB to an iphone next week and cannot wait. DD6 & DS7 have Ipod touches and they are just plain awesome. I feel like my BB Curve is way behind the times. The FB app is much better on the iphone as are most of the apps compared with my BB.

Ok posting from my new PINKberry!! We got a smokin deal, on top of the BOGO they were on sale for $99 and we got 25 percent off since we were moving from the discontinued network! 2 phones for $75 - how could we pass that up?!

I have the Curve, DH has the Storm. We love our Blackberries. I have mine set so that my main personal email comes to it. I love having the web browser. I mostly use the calendar- I can make appointments and schedule parties and whatnot and "invite" DH so that we both know what our plans are on any given day.

I also LOVE Blackberry Messenger- it is IM for only Blackberries. anyone with a blackberry email address can set it up, and you can message back and forth as much as you want. Because it is messenger, not text, it doesn't count towards your text allowance (if you choose to have one). Also, to help keep your text costs down, people who would normally text you can send their text to your email (enter your email address instead of phone number), so you get it free! I have told all of my family to send things through email instead of through text.

We also downloaded an application called Google Latitude that uses your phone's GPS to show your location on a map. If you want to see someone else, they have to approve it, and of course there are a lot of privacy things you have to agree to. I really like it because I can see how far DH is on his commute (he works about 40 minutes away). The one complaint about the application is that you cannot zoom in and see the exact location, so it is not great if you are lost and trying to get directions from someone else. But, the application does come with regular Google Maps, so you get directions and see your progress.

DH does not love his Storm. He has had multiple problems with the software freezing, causing him to miss calls (he can see that there is a call, but cannot answer it). Also, recently his battery has not been holding a charge. His web browser is better than the curve- pages load normally, but they are tiny. I did not love the click part of the touch screen, but I am sure that is something you could get used to.
