BYW, the Curve now has a touchpad instead of the rollerball.
It syncs my Google calendars perfectly and I have 3 email accounts set up on it.
My biggest suggestion is to go to a Verizon store & get them in your hand. I was leaning toward a Droid but really didn't like the feel of what was available with a real keyboard & I dont like virtual keyboards. Verizon's on line pricing has always been better so I would order online but still go check them out in the store.
I have the Curve and loved it the first 6 months I had it but now it is driving me nuts. It's slow slow slow slow. I get an hour glass a lot of the time when I need to make a call or send an email.
I would look into the Droid Incredible or Droid 2. I am not even to my two year point yet but ended up ordering the Incredible. I just can't take the Curve anymore. You get more cool apps and cheaper (Blackberry apps can be $$) available on a droid phone. I will miss the keyboard, but I think the features of the Incredible are more suited to me.
If you want the phone mainly for instant email for work, the Blackberry is better for that though.
That's another issue with the Curve that I have. I have to battery pull a lot because it locks up all the time. It takes 7 minutes to boot up. My computer from 10 years ago boots faster than that. I don't know if I have a tech issue with it or something, but I just can't take it anymore.
I have the newer curve w/verizon, with the mouse instead of the ball. I like it, but do find it slow when I use the internet, so really only use it for e-mail and texting. The wifi on my i-touch is much faster.
Can anyone help me figure out how to get the curve camera to zoom. I could have sworn it used to zoom when you rolled the mouse, but it doesn't anymore!

I think you have to go to the settings and allow zoom. For whatever reason the zoom turns off from time to time. I have the same phone and the same issue. It is annoying to say the least.
I have heard that. I have to use my work applications so I don't have a choice. Like I said earlier--I would get a Droid if I could. DS17 has a Droid and it is SO much easier to use, much faster and way more FUN.
I use an app on my blackberry called quick pull. It is like pulling the battery every night and resetting it. It works great and speeds the phone up. You can set it to work at a specific time. Try it and see if it helps speed it up and fixes the ring tone issues. It was reccomended by a friend of mine.
