Ok so I just signed a Sprint Contract on Monday and I was in there again tonight and I'm debating between the phone I have now which is the Samsung Exclaim or the Blackberry Curve...The Exclaim is 29.99 vs the Curve at 19.99..I mainly plan to use the phone for texting, taking pics of the kids, searching the net from time to time...I'm pretty clueless as far as the apps for a blackberry..Both phones are really nice so I'm curious as to everyone's opinions here...TIA!

I have had my blackberry for a few months and i love it, probably a little to much.

My last phone only had phone and picture capability, so i was a little worried about using a Blackberry, but it is so easy and i don't know i did with out it!!

I've had my curve for about a year and a half. It's owned by my work so I can't tell you about pricing but I can tell you that you can definitely surf the web, text and take pictures from it and it's pretty easy. But viewing on web pages is very limited requiring a lot of scrolling or sometimes pictures are missing as all formats aren't supported by the curve's web browser.

One thing that I find to be very annoying is that about 6 months ago the little track ball that is basically your mouse or cursor started sticking (the ball itself not the app that moves it). I've yet to find a way to resolve the issue.

How do you like the Exclaim so far? My dd wants this phone (badly) for her upgrade and I'd like to know what you think. I have a bb curve 8330 since February and LOVE it! It has everything I need and more.

For any problems with the trackball, I wipe my phone down every few days with an alcohol wipe and use the corners to get in the nooks around the trackball. :goodvibes

I've been with SPrint forever, I don't know anything about either of these phones, but my BF just got the new Reclaim and it's awesome. I've got a palm centro, got it when they just came out and I love it at times, but it's almost 2 years old and I'm ready for a new phone.

If you are looking for apps and web browing I'd probably do the Blackberry. If you have no desire to use the web much, but text and sent pics a lot check out the Reclaim, I was told that it has the longest battery life of any of the Sprint phones right now.

I'm SO tempted to get a new phone, I liked the orange blackberry they had during the summer. But I really want an Iphone and my contract is almost up.

Sprint has been good to me, I've had issues, but they're always willing to fix things and when I swapped from Nextel to Sprint they messed up my service for about 18 hours, so they gave me 10% off my serivce until the contract was up.

I don't know anything about the samsung phone, but I can tell you I will NEVER leave blackberry. I used to be the guy that would buy a new phone whenever I felt like it just to have a new one, but 2 years ago I got the curve when it came out and I had it until the Tour came out. The only reason I upgraded is because my fiance wanted a blackberry and she was locked into contract already so I did an upgrade and we both have a blackberry now. She is not a tech person at all but she loves being able to look something up online or using the gps if she is lost.

check out Buy.com they sell replacement track balls and anythign else you need!

I just got my Samsung Exclaim! If you want a phone for texting primarily then this is a good one. I have never had a full keyboard phone before and I am loving this. It is a bit akward to take pics and they don't come out that well though. (2mp camera) You have to press a million buttons to get to the camera (or else I haven't figured it all out yet).

I didn't opt for the Blackberry as the package was way more expensive and basically it did a lot more than I have time and need for!

so far i really like the exclaim..i haven't had a cell phone in about 5 years so it's really nice to use it either way and not worry..I guess I'm just confused about the hype about the Blackberry..I mean I can do anything online with the Exclaim so I guess I'm sorta lost about the hype with the Blackberry..What does it do that mine does not do? Thanks everyone!

Love, love LOVE my curve. My DH was bugging me to switch but i was opposed. I had a glyde and hated the thing, went into verizon and demanded they fix it for me. They recommended the curve so i caved.

I love it. Can't live without it!

one of my favorite free apps for it is Poynt. Its like having the yellow pages at your fingers but better because it maps out the location like a gps.

I love my curve too. I've had it for two years and I will be upgrading it to another one just like it in the next month. DD18 has the newer BB Curve, but I still like mine better.:cloud9:
