Last time we did Nassau we did Atlantis and really liked it but the prices keep going up. We have 8 year old twins and were thinking about Blackbeards but wanted opinions from people who have been there.

Thoughts please. :confused3

copied and pasted from another post of mine......

Our first time in Nassau in March 2010, we spent our day at Blackbeards. Well, that was our intentions anyway. We woke up to find it raining. I knew we couldn't cancel because of the rain so we went anyway!
It was raining on our boat ride over so they made an announcement immediately that they were going to give us 25% of our money back. At that point, it was just a light rain. When we arrived, we spent a few minutes with the stingrays but then it really started to rain so we got out. At this point, the wind was blowing and it was chilly. The rain was coming down sideways! So all the quests were huddled under their shelter where we would have ate lunch.

A guest spoke up to the crowd and asked if anyone wanted to stay or if we just wanted to skip lunch and go back early. EVERYONE said go back. They agreed to take us back. After about 30, maybe 45 minutes on the island, we all headed back to the ship.

On the way back, they announced they all ready called Disney and told them to just refund the whole excursion back!!! We were impressed and said we would be back!!! We didn't even have to ask for a credit. Great customer service!

And when we returned, I checked with guest services and indeed the credit was on there.

The island, the stingray set up, the beach, everything about it.....liked it. Even with the hard rain, the island/beach looked beautiful. Even though I didn't get to experience everything, I would recommend them! We didn't go back this last time in January because the kids weren't with us but will give them a try again on our next family cruise.

Learn about the physiology and behavioral traits common to all stingrays and then watch in wonder as these curious creatures gracefully float by and gently nudge you as if to say "hello." Hand feed these gentle creatures of the deep. as you Hold in your hand a piece of fish only to have it disappear from a snacking ray moments later. After your 30-minute exchange, return to the beach and compete in a fun-filled game of beach volleyball, and then enjoy a tropical beverage and a delicious lunch (included in the price of this tour). Finally, after your approximate 3.5 hour visit, embark on a 20-minute boat ride and 15-minute stroll back to the ship.

We plan to do this during our cruise next year. Have only read great reviews for it.

Similar thing with bad weather happened to us last February. However, they didn't refund any part of the excursion. The other really unfortunate thing is that they ran out of hot dogs! With so many kids signed up, it was hard to believe that could happen. After the stingrays and our lukewarm lunch, all the guests also decided they wanted to go back as it was cold and rainy.

That was our first DCL cruise and we loved it. I didn't feel a need to request any refund as I just accepted that weather is weather. But I also didn't speak up and probably should have. No biggie.... didn't ruin anything. Just make sure if you have a kid that wants a hot dog, you get in line right away.
