Hey everyone.
Well, I had to redo my hair. The stylist was sweet, and she tried. However, the style was just not "me." The best way that I can describe it was Nellie Olsen. Remember her from the TV series Little House on the Prairie? That is how my hair looked to me. I had big barrel rolls around the side and back. Then she pulled the front and edge of my sides up and clipped it with my rhinestone clip. When I got home my DDs said that it was "ok." Then DH said, as nicely as he could, that he likes my hair better the way I fix it. He told me that I look beautiful with my hair the way I do it and he did not understand why I wanted to change it. lovestruc) So I redid my hair. I am so thankful that I left enough time for that.
We had a great time! All of you were right! It was such a nice event! Wow! They went all out. There was a band and so much food. We were there close to four hours, but the time flew by. The photographer took our picture. I will post it when I get it. DD took a couple of pictures of us before we left, too. I will try to post those today or tomorrow once I get them downloaded.

OK, here is the picture. DD actually took two of us, but one of them is too blurry. The flash apparently did not work correctly or something. This one came out ok. You can see on my face, though, that I am not too thrilled about going.

ETA: I forgot to add earlier that I am very glad that I refixed my hair. NO ONE there had their hair in barrel rolls or ringlets like mine had been fixed. I only noticed about four women in all that had their hair styled in a type of updo or elegant fixed style. Also, about half of the women had long dresses and the other half had short dresses. Though, there were quite a few women in dressy pant suits as well.

We really had a great time! I was surprised to find out how long we had stayed when we got in the car to go home. I thought I would be dying to leave within the first hour or so. We were there close to four hours! The food was delicious! YUM! The band was nice, and the people were friendly. DH really helped me; he introduced me to everyone he knew. He made sure not to leave me out or alone. He looked so nice, too. I felt like Cinderella with my prince!

I'm so glad you finally ended up with a natural hairstyle so you were comfortable. I think it makes all the difference in helping someone have a good time - you're more relaxed from the start. Both you and your DH looked great. Sounds like a wonderful time!

Our family just returned from a cruise. We went to celebrate my 40th birthday. eek DH and I wore our formals one night as the cruise designated it "formal night." We had our photo taken by a ship's photographer and actually liked the way it came out so we bought it. I thought I would share it with all of you here since you were all so helpful!
