Black out Dates for fall codes??

Does anyone know why Disney has blacked out the first week in December??
What is going on that week to make them do that? Our first trip was that week and crowds were light.

Pop Warner, Christmas parade taping, mousefest. If there are no rooms to fill, no discounts are offered. This was the case last year too.

Not true about last year, I got a discount last year, in fact, if I remember correctly, I think I paid $54 or $59 at Pop first weekend in Dec...and I went for the Parade taping....AP discount was used...

I keep all of my old AP emails and there was a black out for the same time (during the Pop invasion). You most likely checked in before the black out started. I think there is availability during some black out, but it is so limited that it fills quickly. I've done searches during the so called AP black out times and have had a few offers. I think last year's black out was only for 4 days (Tuesday to a Friday). I could check later in the day, but haven't had my coffee yet.

We are staying at AKL Dec 1-5 and CSR Dec 5-9. Both reservations were booked using the Visa Discount even though my dates were considered "blackout" dates.

Check the Disney website....that is where I keep checking for an upgrade to a deluxe instead of CSR. All I am seeing is SSR that is available. Guess I should just be lucky that I got a discount in the first place, right?
