Black Friday

It’s not really the same for me as it used to be. The deals tend to be spread it over 4-6 weeks. I also don’t think the deals are as good as they used to be.

These days I tend to look more for travel deals. I am hoping Royal Caribbean has a good sale like last year. I’d like to add on excursions, drinks, dining, and internet to a cruise I have booked . I also wouldn’t mine another trip. I would love Disney to offer a great travel deal but I don’t see that happening.
I've never considered travel deals for Black Friday as a thing, what sorts of deals do you notice? Do you find that some businesses participate more than others?

20-30 years ago I remember Black Fridays when people would be camping out days before a store would open. I was never a Black Friday shopper back then or even now. I didn't go out then and have only gone out twice in many years. Once to Walmart to get a robot vac for MIL and once with my BIL so he could get a new vacuum at Kohls. When shopping in Kohls, I had asked a sales person a question. You can tell she was not in a good mood and didn't want to be there. At first I was a little put off, but this day was actually Thanksgiving Day (at night) and I'm sure she would rather be with family than at work. I know I would. Nowadays deals start earlier and earlier. Feels like Halloween, Thanksgving and Christmas is all bundled together. I looked at the Amazon and Target deals they had going in the beginning of October and nothing caught my eye. I shop all year round for Christmas, especially for my daughter. If I see it and know someone would really like it, I pick it up then and there. Usually the things I look for and buy don't go on sale.

Yes! I look forward to it every year.

I like the travel deals that have popped up over the years during this time so I'll be on the lookout to book my next cruise during this time. NCL normally has good deals during this time. DCL... I wish. 😂

Disney Gift Cards do usually go discounted somewhere for BF, either Sam's Club or Best Buy. I've also jumped on a few of the SeaWorld AP deals they've had during that time.

Gift cards are what I'll be watching for this year - getting the kids airline GC's I think for Christmas so they can travel somewhere.

I don't have much gift purchasing to do BUT I do have some new Christmas decor to purchase so I may venture out the Saturday after Thanksgiving...we'll see how I'm feeling and/or if I've already gone out ahead of Thanksgiving to make those purchases. Otherwise, I'll probably be home chilling out!

I’ll be doing the opposite lol… I’ll be keeping it local on thanksgiving week… so I can return HOME to Disneyland the following month. Have to work on Friday and then… IN PERSON Black Friday.

Last year I was able to get really good discount on excursions and packages for a Royal Caribbean cruise I had booked before Black Friday. RC deals on booking new cruises looked good but I was not looking to book one.

I did book an all inclusive last year on cyber Monday. It was secrets but their family brand beaches also had travel deals.

We often go to maine for a weekend getaway. The hotel we like had a great Black Friday sale last year.

I have also bought travel gift cards at a nice discount over Black Friday/cyber Monday. Last year I got GCs for southwest, Marriott, and local spa for a weekend trip.

Not necessarily excited but I need something this year...maybe two somethings. So, I'm going to have to scour the ads for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. That being said, I absolutely loathe the whole in store madness. The last time I did that was 2010, back when Toys R Us was still around. It was sheer madness with fist fights, metal barricades, and a ton of police. Even waiting in line for check out was filled with obnoxious entitled people thinking it was OK to cut the line. I'm grateful for the online world, even if I have to do in person pick up.

Well now I know what I'll be looking for, thank you bunches!
