Black Friday shoppers how did you do?

Ok , I feel like an idiot for asking this, but what was the 10% Target coupon several people have mentioned when saying they bought the IPOD touch at Target? I missed this - is it still available?

Our black friday was really great. We started at waltmart at 8:45 for the xbox for the kinect. We got it for $199 plus a $50 gc. We also picked up 5 blurays and a Wii game We paid $199 for the xbox and use the $50 for the other stuff.
Everything was very organized in our Waltmart nothing happen. 10 min before 10 the cop when up and down yelling that 2 min before someone will give instructions and if people didn't obey they will be escorted out. The line for the kinect wrap around the food isle and there was a Waltmart employee in each end everything went smoothly. Someone did try to grab DVD before and the cop held hands with the employees and push people back once the crow was controlled he escorted out the person who started.
Savings $150.
Then we went to Target but the line was too long and I have a cold so we came home and nap. The exchange was supposed to match prices so we decided that will be the last stop of the day. Well I drop DH off to wait in line at 3:45 and went to JCpenney to pick up the snow glove. Since I was sick I waited in the car until 5:50 and then join DH is line. We had a plan and have organized the things we wanted priced match by add. DH went to electronics to get an ipad and GPS (xmas gift) and I went to get a Macbook pro and then the video games. I got the computer no problem then got all the video games, since DH was still waiting in line in electronics I moved on to grab the rest.
I picked up a dyson ball(24 model), an blender/food processor, wet and dry vac, and then Dh was done. So he picked up 4 x-box live subscriptions (3 months) and then picked up a pair of shoes he wanted and I wanted a pair of true religion jeans.
We got to the register and organized per add everything was match so we got $45 off the ipad, $69 for the GPS, The Macbook pro end up ringing up only $817:thumbsup2, the dyson was matched to target for 279, all the video games were matched to under $24 each, DH shoes were $63.00 (20% off), the blender/food processor was $50, the wet and dry vacc was $19, my jeans were $149 (-20% off coupon), xbox live 3 months for $7.99 and I think that is it. Our savings were over $800 dollars and we pay no tax there :thumbsup2. Then we went to Best buy for some 3D movies and we got everything on our list we even found that they had Disneyland for kinect for $34!! So our savings there were $84. We had gotten Disneyland full price at gamestop because we really wanted the game so we return that. Our total savings for BF was well over $1000. I haven't sit down to add it all up yet. Also Wed the exchange started their sales that day we got a 52 inch 3D TV. We save $300 on the TV.

Wow, marie1203, you got a great deal on the macbook pro. I shopped around and bought one at amazon yesterday for $150 off the regular price with free shipping which was the best deal I could find. You did well!

The coupon was on Target's website. It is gone now.

online at Target, just print it from their coupons. It expires tomorrow I believe.

JC Penney carries Apple electronics? I had no idea...

mistysue,

I'm confused. You buy Disney gift cards at Target?

Yes, at my Target they are up by the registers. There is one endcap that has Target gift cards and then below those there are random other stores and restaurants. I've had people here tell me their stores had them in the back by the cd's and movies. If you use your Target debit or credit card you get 5% off, if you add a prescriptions reward coupons (5 things filled) you get another 5% for a day. I was skeptical about the discounts at first, but it really takes the % off.

The 10% IPOD coupon was one of the coupons from the Target website. If you scroll near the bottom of Target.com there is a link for "coupons" I'm not sure if it's still there.

Oh boo. How did I miss this!? I had family staying from out of town last night, so I didn't get out until 7pm tonight! (after asking the question about the coupon even). So I go to target to pick up a few odds and ends, not even thinking I have a chance at any of the door busters (the IPOD was the only big ticket item on my list.) so I just to be careful, I say to the guy at the electronics dept. "I guess you don't have any IPODs left huh?" and he says the at least 100 of them!!! So glad I didn't stand in line last night! He said they manufacture them so fast, that they go a ton in. They had a bunch of doorbusters left in electronics , the westinghouse TV was the only thing I noticed was gone.

So I'm glad I at least got the IPOD with the gift card, but I am BUMMED I missed the coupon! How long was it on the site?

One PS... the occupants of Walmart... more than a few of them smelled as if they had been imbibing in the Wacky Tabbacky... I wonder if the chip and cookie aisles got completed wiped out too?

:rotfl2:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: The 2am crowd was about the same. I usually am not one to notice what other people are wearing unless it's extreme, but please at least change into a shirt you haven't been cooking in all day before heading out. I hope they were there to take advantage of the $5 shirts.

Thank you for mentioning this! I had never looked at Target. I know CVS sells Disney GC's in my area and we use our ECB to buy these here and there, but I will need to look for these the next time I go to Target. :thumbsup2

I am happy everyone was able to get their items and for a good deal, either from home or in the store last night, and so far we all seem to be safe and accounted for.

The only issue I've heard that happened in my town, aside from the known crowd issues at Walmart and Best Buy was at our local Nebraska Furniture Mart. I went 4 years ago, and almost had my first and only panic attack, I think? It was the most insane thing I'd ever seen, no line going in just a mass of 2500 people entering at once. I was young and had more tolerance at that time and did get some of what I went there for, but the line to check out was almost 4 hours long! By that time, it was the point and I waited, but again young and stupid. Never again, not even if they handed out hot chocolate and free donuts would you catch me there! :headache: This year my 20 year old brother wouldn't listen to me and headed to the Nebraska Furniture Mart. I think his facebook post sums up what he found...."I'm pretty sure I'm staring into the eyes of the apocalypse.....my God...I love you all remember that." Of course I responded with a "I told you so." :rotfl2: I later saw on the news there was a small group of "occupy" protesters that went into the store and started pulling items off the shelves and then blocked the area from shoppers. :confused3 Honestly if you want to protest fine, but think before you stage a protest like this in a store right next to the hunting store that was handing out free rifles to 100 lucky customers 2 hours beforehand. :scared1: The police were called, protesters were removed and the madness went back to normal. By the end of it, my brother didn't get a thing he wanted and learned a valuable lesson. Your older sister is always right. :goodvibes

Joann Fabrics was my big score... Their annual flannel sale is unbeatable. I got a high-intensity lamp for my sewing table and about 70 yards of various fabrics for PJs, plus a 5 pack of replacement blades for my rotary cutter. Spent $123, saved $391!!

JoAnn's was my big score too...well actually, it was my only score! I had to work a double shift today with only a two hour break to go shopping and that is where I wanted to go to the most.

I bought 10 yards of the flannel for PJs so I can make them for Christmas for the ladies in my family...mom, aunt, cousins, grandma etc. Less than $5 a pair for all the supplies and it is a homemade gift made with love that they will actually use. Can't beat that.

Funny because I actually also bought the 5 pack of blades for a rotary cutter too! Hahha! I was psyched about the 60% off all fiskars products. I also bought a few new pairs of scissors...I am always wearing mine out or losing them.

I've been sewing for years but recently have started becoming interested in quilting, so I also bought various supplies like a cutting board and a quilting ruler and the rotary cutter and a walking foot for my machine and some random pieces of those fat quarters that I liked etc today. My best friend is having a baby who is going to be my Godchild, so I am making her a quilt as my first quilting project. Hopefully going back to JoAnn's tomorrow AM bright and early to use my 25% off entire purchase coupon. I had one for today but couldn't get there until after 12pm.

I wanted to go to Best Buy to get that $199 TV but since I saw on the news that people were camped out super super early I decided the amount of time I would have had to wait outside of best buy wasn't worth the savings.

I though BF went rather smoothly for me...the only thing I wanted was the XboxKinnect+$50 gift card bundle at WM for $199 that went on sale at 10...got there about 8 and was # 8 in line so didn't think it was too bad to wait 2 hours for that deal...everyone one in line was very chatty and talking so the time passed very quickly...at about 9:15 an associate was wheeling a box of games past us and some asked if we could grab some and he said yes so a lot of people grabbed what they wanted and I got the game I had planned to get without fighting a huge crowd... o'clock came, got my xbox, walked around real quick to see if there was anything else I wanted and ended up getting the electric griddle and the play-doh set they had for $10 a piece...I was hoping to pick up some of the monster high dolls but they were either out or i didn't see them...it was crowded but more organized chaos then all out mayhem...check out took about 20 minutes and I was back home by 11 to get a good nights sleep before going to work...

funny part of the whole night is that this is the "ghetto" Walmart and there were no problems that I saw/heard of, however when I was in line people were getting text that fights were breaking out at the "rich" Walmart across town

I am jealous of the Joanne Fabric scores! I wish we had one close to us. Those flannel prices are great! But the closest one is at least 45 minutes away*with gas prices kind of negates the great deal on fabrics.

I was not going to go anywhere, but I woke up and felt like I needed to call my mother and see if she wanted to go shopping.

She is a caregiver for my grandmother (her mother) and has been having a really rough time with her. She is suffering from dimentia and constantly blames my mother for everything.

I called her, and she was ready to shop.

We went to the local mall, and she hit JCPenney for a bunch of stuff. After that, we went to lunch. And after lunch we saw the Breaking Dawn movie. After the movie, we went to Hot Topic, but stopped at Pepperidge Farm and bought some of their mini mints.
:)

She got some much-needed shopping and away time today. And that was important to me, as well as my family.

That story warms my heart! So glad you were able to spend a nice day with her and get her out and about forgetting about her worries. What a nice gift! To spend time together..... I can now go to sleep with a smile!

Good for you!

Caregivers NEED a break, believe me I know!

You're a great "kid"! :thumbsup2

We did almost all of our shopping at Wal-Mart last night. Nothing at Target we really wanted - there is only one around (within 100 miles) and I *hate* their parking lot. We have never had luck there on BF.

Got to Wal-Mart around 7:15 pm because we weren't sure if people would be waiting for things or not. Store was pretty much deserted. Got in line for Xbox 360 + Kinect bundle and were about #20 or so in line. They had it winding through the shoe section, so it was sort of quiet and secluded from the rest of the store. DH sat in line and chatted with some fellow Disney fans while DSis and myself scouted out the store for the other items we wanted. I went over to electronics before 8 and had an associate get all of the games out of the case for me that I was going to price match. I also grabbed the wireless Xbox controllers off the shelf to price match (didn't know they would be on the BF display). Browsed the movies and picked up any that I was price-matching (like Cars and Transformers) and picked up a couple of games to PM also (Simon Flash).

My HUGE scores of the night were a Nintendo 3DS and the Star Wars Complete Saga on Blu-Ray. The Wal-Mart we were at price matched Nebraska Furniture Mart's ad so I paid $99 for the 3DS and $59 for the SW Saga. That was $100 savings just on those two items.

Anyway, the crowd steadily grew and was pretty large by 10 pm - but relatively well behaved. I didn't see anyone getting in arguments or anything - but all of the Xbox and Wii games were gone within 10 minutes or so. We found a couple of them still back in the cases in electronics, so we just grabbed them from there instead. ;) We had to hang around until 12 because DSis wanted a TV. She waited in line and we browsed around the store - it was relatively easy to shop after the initial 10 pm rush. We finally left around 1:15 am with everything we wanted.

Went to the mall for our traditional BF nachos (long story) and it was a madhouse! In the past, only Old Navy had opened really late (or early I guess). This year, tons of stores were open and the food court was packed! We still had our nachos and then headed over to Toys R Us. Store wasn't even as crowded as on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of the big ticket things gone, but still got a couple of B1G1 free DS games, an Orbeez thing for DD, and a couple of things other people asked us to pick up.

Stopped at a different Wal-Mart on our way out of town (Sis needed some milk) and it was a ghost town (around 4 am). Several items still available, including at least 20 Wii systems (no Xboxes though). No big tickets of course, but we did find Glee Season 1 for $10 and a couple of other movies we missed the first time around. We were also able to browse the clothing a little better - more picked over, but that was OK. The cashier said it died down around 11:30 or so - good to know.

Made it home right around 5 am and slept until noon. It was a good shopping trip - glad we were able to price match and only had to hit 2 stores instead of 5!

We're moving on the 1st, so DS and I postponed Thanksgiving dinner till next weekend (we're renting a room now, and fridge space has been enough of a problem that I didn't want to add a turkey to it. My turkey is sitting out on top of my summer tires in the garage, lol.

So early Thanksgiving, I went to Fred Meyers and bought camping mattresses for the move. Got some dishes, too. I learned that for me, pan sets don't work. I looked at all sorts of brands, from high to low end, and none provided the kinds of pans I use (who the heck cooks on an 8 inch or even 10 inch skillet?). So I bought two pans from their open stock selection.

Hit Walmart at 10, and it was a ZOO! I thought it would be easy--I'm used to going for electronics, but I had no idea there would be such a demand for sheets and towels! Spent about $100, but saved more than that. Hoping my stick vacuum is as good as the reviews on Amazon say, cause that's our vacuum for a while!

Then, I went back to Walmart today, and found a stashed sheet set that someone didn't buy last night (plus one more towel!)

I really wanted the pyrex set, but no luck on that. Will have to buy something before next weekend so I can make a pie and some casseroles for our late Thanksgiving.

One thing I was very glad of was preordering DS's Christmas gift (the new Zelda game). I could never have bought the household items I got if I'd been off looking at video games.

I think I did pretty well on BF. We headed out to Kohl's at 11:50 PM. We got there right at midnight. The line wasn't that long. It took about 5 minutes to get inside. The only thing I really wanted was the $25 gel mat for my kitchen that Bed Bath and Beyond had for $99. We headed straight for the back section and was able to snag a brown one. We then headed to the mens wear dept. I picked up some henleys for $12.99, tees for $6.99, pullover track jacket for $14.99 and warm up pants for $21.99. I had the extra 15% coupon and the bonus $10 gift card. I only spent about $100 and got back $30 in Kohls cash. It took about 30 minutes to check out

We headed to Walmart about 1 AM. My son really wanted a TV. He found a Sanyo 26 inch HDTV for $225, not super cheap but not bad. They still had several of the larger TV's that were on sale available. It took about 10 minutes to check out there.

We headed to Target next. My son wanted the Beats Audio headphones that were half off. We got there about 1:30 AM and he got the last pair. I wanted a new crock pot (the kind with the clips) they had it on sale for $17.99. It took the longest to check out a Target, maybe about 45 minutes.

I took the my son home to set up his TV and caught a couple hours of sleep. I then headed out abot 5:30 AM to Staples for a document shredder. They had one for $50 with a $30 Easy rebate. So the price will net at $20. I was kicking myself I didn't get there a couple of minutes earlier or I could have got the Kindle Touch for $99 with a $20 gift card.

I then headed to Dick's Sporting goods for some Adidas soccer pants and a warm up jacket for my daughter. They had a $15 off coupon for Adidas if you spend more that $59. The set cost $76 which isn't super cheap but she has been asking for these soccer warm-ups forever. So this was the cheapest I was going to see them.

I was in bed by 8AM with a good chunk of my Christmas shopping done. :cool1:
