Black Friday Sales Question

I went out once on BF and it was madness! If I find good enough sales this year, maybe I'll go!

thelittlemermaid.......I'm not far from you.......I'm in Lorain. :teeth:

I lucked out on black friday last year. After looking at all the sale fliers the only thing that I was interested in purchasing were bigger items (a trampoline and bikes). Well, how in the world is "little old me" going to get these items through those horrible crowds? The only solution I could come up with was to send my husband into the chaos at 5 am! Unfortunately, I don't think we will be getting any large items this year. LOL

I've been a Black Friday Shopper for years.

I've gotten $200 digital cameras for $69. I got a scanner/copier for $0 with rebates. A 17" monitor for $69 when they were like $300. Slim-line CD Cases for $0. 100 packs of Blank CD-RWs for $0.

Film for .50 cents. Hoover Boss Vacum cleaner for $29.

I hop between Wal-Mart and staples.

I usually spend about $200 and get about $700 worth of stuff.

Staples has the best

sence I started working at Kohl's I really HATE even the thought of black friday, last year it was so bad, we opened at 5:30 am and every carrage was gone in like 30 seconds it was bad......

My daughter and I are the queens of black friday (although we've never heard it referred to as that). This year we will be at WDW for Black Friday. I read the questions Linda asked earlier...would love some info on anything special at the world Friday.

In the past twenty years, there are only three black fridays that I didn't work. I'm in retail management, and can't have the day off.

Last year, I was supposed to go into my store at 9 am, so that put the kibosh on any BF shopping. Thanks to Internet shopping, I got ALL the BF specials I wanted at Toys R Us and Wal Mart's website. Even better, they both had free shipping!

This year's a little better, I'm due in at 11am. There's a wal mart right up the road from my new store, so I'll be shopping. I have plans to get my luddite sister a DVD player. It'll make it easier for me to buy my DNephews DVD's instead of videos!

This question is for the ones that do their BF shopping on the internet, how far in advance can you do this?

I would love to take advantage of these great deals, but I just can't get up that early. I'm always up til 1 or 2 am with DD trying to get her to sleep.

Would love to be able to get the kids more on little money cause of these deals. DS wants these exspensive GBA games and maybe just maybe someone will be offering the ones that he wants at a great deal.

I also work retail (Walmart Toys) and have worked the past two. This year I *will* be in for the rush (last year I worked the 4pm-1am shift and that wasnt fun...)

We ususally know about a week in advance unless the stuff comes in before that- I do know that last years "walmart list" was pretty much not accurate-

I am using Black Friday for another reason besides saving $$$ this year....I am treating it as a 'GETTING IN SHAPE TO DEAL WITH THE CROWDS AT WDW DURING CHRISTMAS" day!:teeth: Seriously...think about it, tired, coffee- starved people, all after the same thing, anxious for the fun, spending tons of $$$$...VERY similar to what I have read to expect from Dec crowds.
Humor helps these situations a lot.

Thanks for the tip about during internet shopping for Black Friday.

I have one question did order off walmart.com on that day. Did stay up at 12:00p.m. midnight.

Trying to plan out my plan out Thanksgiving see if need to stay up late to get a good deal.

craze,

I got the Walmart.com deals before noon on Thanksgiving. Got the Toys R Us one before noon, too.

DH bought something off Best Buy that evening and it was a black friday deal, too.

I know I do not need to say this but, as soon as anyone gets any info please post it. Time is getting closer. Just 6 weeks. I would put a counter but I do not know how.

little mermaid-just be sure you are getting the early hours prices when shopping on the internet. I logged on to circuit city.com and thought I was getting the GBA with a free game for the GBA price. That is what the picture showed and I entered the item # from the BF ad. On BF I had a gut feeling so I called. They said I was only getting the GBA NO GAME!!! The ad made the website by mistake. Luckily I was out in the madness anyway so I went to TOYSRUS and waited an hour to get one. Just becareful the deals don't say instore only!!!

dpratt68...Thanks for the warning!!! I will keep my eyes open for the "small" print. LOL!!!

Thanks again!!!
