Oh I am already counting down for BF. DH and I go every year. Its awesome having CHristmas done in one night. Last year we got some great deals. This year we don't need a thing since we will be doing Christmas in Disney but we are still going. I love the thrill of a good deal.

I Love Black Friday!!! I go every year so I will be frequenting this post a lot! I am in the market for an LCD TV this year. :cool1:

HEADS UP FOR TRANSFORMER TOYS!!!!

Last year there were some great BF sales on Transformers. There are coupons for $5 off a $19.99 purchase on the current Happy Meal sacks that feature transfomers and Littlest Pet Shop. The coupons do not expire until 2009. If you will be looking for these toys clip the coupons now and save them!

I'm sooooo in!!

Craziest thing we ever did...my mom and I were driving home from Thanksgiving dinner my sophomore year of college. We decided to stop by Wal-Mart to see if the had started. It was about 11:30 or so, and there was a line of about 7 people at the front of the store. Apparently this was the line for the $300 HP laptop. We decided to camp out with them. Haha!! Mom ran outside to grab our camping chairs and we read magazines, played games and basically goofed off until 5:00 a.m. rolled around. It was definitely an interesting Thanksgiving night. I'm typing on my BF Bargain right now, as a matter of fact!!

This year I'd like to have:
-Pocket-sized camera; I have an S3, but it's kind of big to take to girls' nights or when wo go dancing, etc.
-Possibly an iPod w/video; I've got a (product)RED nano that I love, but I'd get another one if the price is right.
-Any Disney toys (specifically Cars, Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse).
-Flat panel TV for my room; got one for $250 two years ago for my mom!!
-JC Penney free Mickey snow globe (we have the last six or seven years of globes!!)

I'm 40 mind you and I had no idea what Black Friday was like until last year. I was stunned by all the, pardon me..."freaks" out in 5:30 in the morning and I was unaware that these people had already been shopping for hours! The Spongebob TV w/free dvd player at Meijer were gone hours before I got there. People were shopping at 2 in the morning wondering around aimlessly until they could check out. I WAS PISSED! Soooo I guess I will be one of those "freaks" shopping all night thru morning for the deals. Or is it really worth it? I don't know. I guess it depends on what I "need" vs. what I "want". Anyway...I'm anxious to see what deals are happening this year.

My wish list is:

Flat panel TV for DH for our newly remodeled basement (which isn't done yet...but should be by Christmas).
PS3 for DS
Dyson vaccuum for me (2nd one...I love my old Dyson Animal...just hate lugging it up and down the steps)
Digital photo frame for DM

That's all I can think of...but with 7 nieces and nephews to buy for and my DF (who's a royal pain to buy something for...what do you get the man who either has everything he says he needs and buys anything he wants :confused3 ) I'm sure the list will grow!

I'm not one to go to the stores...I have personal space issues and would end up in a fight:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 I DO, however, go for all the online sales...let's not forget about Cyber Monday, either...I'm in for shopping BOTH days!!:thumbsup2 We are looking to puchase new tvs for our room and the kids' room. We are also looking for a 40" or better for our living room, as PS3 {makes more sense than buying the Blueray player on its own} and some random Christmas shopping!:cool2:

Seems like everyone is looking for a flatpanel TV. The competition will be fierce; think I'll skip it and get the best deal otherwise. Thinking about Christmas shopping on July 14th gives me a headache. Bump this thread up in about 4 months again will ya?

I'll be looking for Wii stuff ,already have the Wii from Walmart but if I get a deal will take it back !!Still need another conroller and other accesories!! Also want some sort of 19/20 " TV for DGDs . I think DGS wants another DS . I am not camping out all night so will leave that to DD & DSIL. Iwill meet them at a more Godly hour!!:rotfl2:

Sorry, last year we got our first ad june 6 so really we're running late...........

hurry up and get ten posts and then pm me!!! post ten times on this thread if you want!! scoop!!!

I'm hoping for a great deal on a laptop! I'm moving into a new house tomorrow, with small rooms, so I've already bought new LCD tvs. No room for tv cabinets so we are hanging them all on the wall-pretty good excuse huh!

Our local Walmart got new floor models and clearanced all the old ones. Ours only had one left over the weekend, but it may be worth checking in your area. They just stuck all of them out in front of the electronics counter, in the aisle. I also got an all in one Kodak printer, and they had computer moniters and other electronics out as well.

I'm back again budget board buddies, tracking the latest rumors, and links to sale ads for black friday 08!!

Start checking in here for the latest gossip and ideas for a successful holiday gift hunt.....\

Twas the night of Thanksgiving and black friday buddies were up late
Plotting and planning their big sale price breaks
Round the table they cut the bargins from the pages they'd snatched
With the hopes of a a free cd cabinet that latched.
They lined up in droves with the snow pouring down
But on their bewildered faces was nary a frown.
Through the doors they pushed through for 4.00 cds
where, or where might the cheap cameras be?
In store after store the bargins they grabbed
Bragging on their cell phones about the things they had nabbed.
And they cried as through the front door they went,
Merry Christmas to all my last dime is spent!!!

I'm not really looking for anything special this year but I just love this day for shopping!!!!

I am ready and waiting for my favorite shopping day of the year:banana:

from a dis board inside with a MAJOR retailer:

a blu ray player from 199.99 and blu ray movies from 14.99 to 19.99

again a MAJOR retailer

another rumor free digital conversion packs to the first fill in the amount? to uprgrade old televisions

thanks keep the rumors rolling we'll live on those for months

For everyone wanting blu ray movies- keep your eyes out throghout the year at amazon.com (they offer alot of buy 2 get one free- they actually have one right now) also deepdiscount(dot)com has a 20% off sale 2 times a year. they just had one in June and I was able to get 3 blu ray dvd's for $60 (and I even thought I overpaid for them, but I needed them right away)

as far as the $199 player, bundle up ;)

FROM ANOTHER SITE:

BRING FRIENDS, this might be the most important part of all, the more people you have, the better the chance of being able to obtain the item, it makes waiting a lot more fun and passes the time faster

-Bring FOOD, bring food that you can eat because you will get hungry, don't bring things you have to cook unless you do the Black Friday BBQ thing, those are actually quite fun... but for most people you should be bringing snack type foods (also make sure it isn't food that might make you want to go to the restroom... you don't really want to go take a dump)

-KNOW YOUR LOCATION, it's good to go to the store before the sale, probably good to go days before to see where everything is located, yes it might be different on the actual day of the sale but still, it's good to know where things are... however big items are usually held on vouchers so if you aim for big items this isn't necessary

-Like what everyone else said, PRINT OUT YOUR ADS, list the things you want to buy, circle them, if you are reading this then you probably already know how to do your research and find ads ahead of time

-Wear something WARM... you know where you live, and you know how cold it can get... I brought two jackets and I still wasn't warm. Bring a tent if you want to or plan to sleep... this isn't just for the good deals, this is a very fun experience

-Activities... last year we brought cards and played Hold'em and we got known as the gambling group... it is good to be KNOWN because hours before opening... people will start coming and the more people there are they will indeed start cutting, if you know who is around you... you reduce people that cut

-BEFRIEND THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU... this is a very good idea because if they are nice and you need to take a potty break... they will save your spot in line and they help make your experience better

-Protect your belongings, people aren't always nice and you have a great possibility of getting things stolen from you

-Bring a big car, it can help store the things you need, or bring tents and more things... you know what I mean

After you get into the store
-Have one person grab the cart and follow you as fast as possible, go to the items you want most first because those are probably the items that other people also want

-Again, knowing where the items are works

-Run if possible, just move as fast as you can, don't be afraid to get a little ugly... don't let people dominate over you

These are pretty much the basic things you need to know but I've seen a lot of people listing times like go hours before... know how competitive the people in you location are...

I went to BestBuy ThanksGiving morning at around 6:00AM... yes 23ish hours of waiting it out and guess what... we weren't first, not even 2nd, 3rd or 4th... we were 8th in line. This is Southern California by the way but if you really want something, then plan to go earlier than you had already planned, then the day before... plan to go earlier than the that.
