Black Friday Buddies 2011 Unite!

I am wanting Ipads too. I would like to get DD & DS one. DD starts college next year & I know that it will help her. I guess that there won't be any deals on those though!

This is what I am looking for too!!! One year the apple website did offer a little discount on black friday when I ordered an Ipod for my son.....

Can we please get the links posted on the first post like Tenia did last year? It's sooooo much easier that way.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

WOW. Well maybe the lines won't be so long in the morning then.... or maybe they'll be worse. :headache:

I am in an area where my only option is the Internet. 725 air miles from shopping. Does anyone have ideas about Internet only shopping? Best sites, free shipping,etc... Thanks

Our Walmart last year had a group of sale items that went on sale at midnight. The big sale started at 5am like usual. The palets were wrapped in plastic & they cut the plastic at 5am. I got in line for a GPS & started talking to some people. One guy said that there were a few people who were loading their buggies up with things like 10 Steam Shark Mops. I saw a lady & her husband putting as many of the portable DVD player as they could get into their buggy.

That's how it was at ours, too! It worked out really well; we arrived at 11:30ish and we got most of what we wanted... The lines were mapped out for the big 5am deals, and I could have gotten one of the cheap tv's but wasn't willing to wait 5 hours in the line... :rotfl2: This year we will be getting there a bit earlier than 11:30pm so we can fill up the cart and then just hang out waiting to pay.

Depends on what you are wanting. Last year I did the majority of my shopping online. I followed the BlackFriday websites, I like gottadeal the best you can search for a certain item or check out their online forum. By keeping my eye on all the boards, forums, and websites I got a TV for DD under $100., game bundles w/ controller for the Wii for everyone, and the ipod my son wanted all online.

Harbor Freight and Ace Hardware ads are out. Nothing exciting for us. Bath and Body works will have the VIP totes they had last year. Tick tock

What kind of purchase was required to get the VIP tote?

So I saw the ToysRUs big book is up. Do you go to the stores to get them? I remember when they mailed them to you, but I dont recall getting any lately.

We got ours in the mail. It also came with a coupon for a $10 gift card if you spend $75 or more. Last year it was spend $100, get a $10 gift card. Also, if you're a Rewards member, you'll be eligible for coupons every month in 2012 if you spend $200 total before Christmas.

I'm making myself crazy already! Bought several things at Toys R Us yesterday and now see I would save $30 if I had waited. I think I can get an adjustment on my receipt, though. Hope so. Is the big toy catalog for Nov 1 and beyond or for BF? Thanks!

TRUS toy catalog starts today and ends just before Thanksgiving. I think Target's starts Nov. 1st and also ends just before Thanksgiving. The catalog is online, but it doesn't have the gift card with purchase coupon.

This morning I bought DD the Princess and Me Ariel doll online at TRUS, with store pickup. With the purchase of any Princess and Me doll you get both the sleepwear outfit and the ballet outfit. So, I got her the doll and 2 outfits for just the price of the doll!

AT our store last year, you could not put the stuff into the cart until midnight because they were on pallets wrapped in plastic with an employee standing by them. It was insane and I will not be trying that again.

I am not thrilled about Target opening at midnight. In fact, it rather bums me out. I like the early morning experience. Might just be shoppig at home this year. :surfweb:

I am in a dilema and am wondering if there are just as good of deals online as there are in the store?

I normally get lots of movies from target, and this year I am on the lookout for a TV for our house, some board games, and odd and in presents that I could take or leave getting on black friday.

Which would I be better off doing? Shopping in store, or online?

The last two years I have done my shopping online for BF. Usually buying on Thanksgiving morning as soon as I can. I do miss getting out into the shopping fray, but with free shipping for the most part, it's hard to leave family to brave the elements when I can just click away in my jammies and get the same result. This should work well for your TV since so many people will be going for those.

Call me crazy, but I do love just getting out and being a part of the whole BF vibe. I love seeing all the holiday sweatshirts and enjoying (for the most part) the friendliness and comradery of the people. I would suggest when you sit down on Thanksgiving with your list, go online and see what can be purchased that way. If you still need or want to go out on BF at least you'll have options.

It's getting close!

Went to Toys R Us yesterday and got adjustments on my previous purchases. Also, I had bought a Journey doll, but saw that they were $10 cheaper at TRU online. So, I ordered two of them and picked them up at the store. The toy catalogue advertised a free outfit with the purchase of the doll, but I wasn't sure it would apply to my online purchase. Well, I got a really great person at the customer service desk and she made it happen for me. I was so excited! I also purchased an easy bake oven for just $35, so was happy with my trip. Does anyone have an opinion on whether an easy bake oven would be okay for an almost 5 year old? TIA

I just updated first page with links. I will try to remember to update when new ads are posted.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Macys just announced that (for the first time ever) it will open at midnight, Friday Nov. 25th. (Basically, Thanksgiving night.) Wow, I wonder how many other stores will open this early?

The new trend may be to start shopping after you've swallowed the last piece of pie on Thanksgiving day!
