Has anyone gone to the Orlando Premium Outlets on Black Friday? We will be leaving the Universal area that day and I was thinking of hitting the outlets before we leave. Especially want to check out the Vera Bradley store.
Is it worth it? Do they open early?

I would be interested to hear on this too. Someone told me that they are open late on Wednesday before Thanksgiving and they have the Black Friday deals then, but I don't know if this true. If they have the deals then I would think it wouldn't be as busy as Friday.

In a word - DON'T. We tried to get to the outlets on a Black Friday while we at Disney. We spent over 2 hours in traffic and never did get to the outlet mall. I will never do that again.

Yikes! thanks for the heads up.

Sorry I can't help with the Black Friday sales. Just giving you my .02. We went to the outlet malls two weeks ago. The first day we went we arrived close to 10:00 am when they opened and found a parking spot, not close but a little walking distance. Then we went again on our departure day we arrived after noon. We could not find a parking spot. It took about 30 min to find a parking spot. Now if you wanted Valet parking they had plenty of those available. I do not think I would want to venture there on BF unless I took a cab.

Just so you know Vera Bradley is at the outlets closer to Disney (Vineland Ave). Not the one that is right by Universal (International Drive). Both are Orlando Premium Outlets.

Two years ago we were staying at the hilton vacation club that is attached to one the outlet malls. One thing that I learned was they are open all day on thanksgiving with the same sales that they will have on black friday. I went over during the day on thanksgiving and it wasn't busy. For the heck of it I went over on black friday and the crowds were out of control. So the moral of the story is to hit the mall on thanksgiving if you can

Did they have "better" sales on Thanksgiving versus any other day?? We have an official disney outlet store here and just wondered

This is so true -- we went early evening and were in traffic for over an hour trying to park.

I wouldn't go near either outlet mall on Black Friday. You WILL be stuck in traffic for two hours-no joke.

I also wouldn't go during the Florida tax free shopping weekend which is the first weekend in August this year.

It's not worth the traffic, the lines, the frustration, etc.

Hmmm...We are doing US/IOA Thanksgiving Day. I'm thinking maybe we could run through the outlets after the park, then drive on to Daytona or thereabouts to avoid the Orlando area traffic BF morning.

Honestly, the only stores I'm really interested in are Vera Bradley & Dooney. We don't have those at our outlet malls in Myrtle Beach.

And before you go sign up to be on their e mail list, you will get in 24hrs a coupon for 20 off of 75 which is a great deal if you happen to buy the clearance and then get another 20 to 20 % off which is what they usually have.

I think it is the same owner of the outlet malls all over the country Premium Outlets. ON Thanksgiving they usually are either open overnight OR they open at midnight. I went to the one nearest me in Wrentham at 4 am and there were lots of people but not so bad that you could not park or had to wait in line for hours to get in. They did have some extra % off that ended at like 9 am so it was worth it.

You know what's funny about the outlet at the end of International Drive by Universal? LOTS of valet spaces available but I have never seen more than 1 person working the valet desk. Most of the time I've seen no one working and people just getting upset over waiting for a valet when no one is there. I suggest parking at the edge of the festival bay mall lot and walking across the street. it's a lot easier.

Don't go there for a quick trip on Black Friday. It's not worth it and the traffic is horrible.

I'm already on the VB email list. I'll have to sign up DH to get the coupon!:thumbsup2
