well after a two week break, and 3 weeks to go...it's time for our last installment of team challenges!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Here is how it works; below you see a list of ‘tasks’. For the next 7 days you are challenged to complete as many ‘tasks’ as you can. Each one is valued at 5 pts each, maximum points are noted. During the 7 days of the challenge, keep record of a completed tasks and at the end of the week turn in your final total score to your team captain, or designated teammate.

This challenge is on your honor system, be accurate and honest with the points you award yourself ::yes:: :thumbsup2

  1. Prepare a new-to-you recipe for trail mix (nuts, whole grains, cereal and raisins, dried fruit, etc) for a snack this week; can be either a published recipe or one you create yourself. Share your recipe with your team in your weekly thread -- 5 pts for making each trail mix -- max 10 pts

  2. Research and find a new-to-you healthy recipe and make it -- 5 pts for each new-to-you recipe that you make -- max 15 pts

  3. Post your new-to-you recipe (from task #2) on the Healthy Eating sub-forum; link it to your team in your weekly thread --5 pts per recipe posted -- max 15 pts

  4. Add wheat germ or flaxseed to yogurt, salads or any dish for extra fiber and nutrients three times this week -- 5 pts for each set of 3 -- max 15 pts

  5. Pack your lunch for work (or whatever meal you eat at work) -- 5 pts for each day you pack -- max 25 pts

  6. Plan and prepare healthy crockpot meals twice this week -- 5 pts for 2 meals prepared -- max 10 pts

This challenge is meant to motivate you...not to stress you! You may choose to complete one or two of the tasks, or all of them. Let this challenge be want you need it to be.....to CHALLENGE YOU!

The challenge begins on Wednesday November 28th at 12:01 a.m. and ends on Wednesday December 5th at midnight. Your final score must be reported in by Thursday December 6th at 3 p.m. EST in order to be included in the team score. Team captains will report in to each team and report the final results in their weekly team thread on Thursday (Dec 6) evening.

Wanna know what you’re playing for?? The winning team earns bragging rights and the right to include a clippie of such in their signature until the completion of the next team challenge.

Suggestion – print out the task list and keep it handy to mark off each time you complete one for easy and accurate record

I hope you all enjoyed the first challenges and incorporating some new healthy habits into your routine :cheer2: :cheer2:

please post any questions here and myself or a team captain will be happy to answer as best as we can.

Ooooh, a cooking challenge! Love that....and I can whip my DSis on the rival team, since she is not a cook! :rotfl:

My sweet DH usually packs my lunch  ....so does that count, or do I have to physically put the things in myself? :rolleyes1

I like this one! :thumbsup2

i think any way you get a packed lunch is fine :teeth: ::yes:: the point is to bring from home and not 'buy out'

and i thought of one thing after i shut my computer down last night....i'm definately into multi-tasking so it's fine if you overlap a new recipe with a crockpot meal (#2 and #6)

Quick question...I work at home so can I still get points for the packed lunch from home or not.

Thanks!!

Question about the challenge...

I have posted 2 crockpot (as well as new to me :thumbsup2 ) recipes in our weekly thread, however I don't know where to post them on the Eating Healthy subboard. It looks like there are just stickies there. Should I just start a new thread?

I have the nutrition info for one recipe but not sure if it would qualify as low carb/WW. It doesn't look like anyone else has posted yet so I couldn't follow anyone's lead!

Thanks for any help!

geekerbell -- team captain consensus is that at-home healthy lunches DO COUNT :) including us SAHM ::yes::

geetey -- start a new thread with your recipe and it will get linked into the sticky. maybe we need a new sticky for those healthy recipes but not categorized as WW or low carb?
